Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will officially release next week on February 14, 2020. To let players see if they want to splurge on the title, Capcom is hosting a free trial of the game that includes almost everything. Running from today, February 3, until February 9, players on PC and PS4 will get to test out all 39 available characters (Seth will launch next week) and a plethora of game modes.

It's the most generous Capcom has been with its free trials of Street Fighter V. Other free weeks have included the base roster and specific seasons, but not everyone. This even includes the recently released Gill, which is pretty big. If you're not sold on the gameplay changes and character additions after this, then it's likely that V just isn't for you.

If you do happen to get the itch to keep playing, Street Fighter V is currently on sale on both Steam and the PlayStation Store for $8. The Champion Edition upgrade kit will run you $24, though you can wait until launch to grab everything for $30. It's a little odd, but I'd just wait the extra few days if you want everything.

As a refresher, Champion Edition is basically an all-in-one compilation of everything released for Street Fighter V so far. You'll get 40 characters, over 200 costumes, and all balance/gameplay upgrades made over the last four years. It's a really solid deal if you just want to jump into Street Fighter V with little hassle.

Capcom's original launch of the fighter back in 2016 may have been sloppy, but the company has done a lot to turn things around. V still isn't the best it could be, but fans have been happy with the continual updates and many are stoked about the new characters. There's finally a diverse roster with different playstyles and some returning veterans.

We're still not certain if Champion Edition will be the absolute final update for V, but this is as good a time as any to jump in. Most new fighters launching for $60 don't include half as much as what is here. Capcom could have prevented the years of apathy with a better launch, but at least the game is in a better state.
