Ah, Street Fighter V, the gift that keeps on giving. Capcom have just revealed the third character joining the roster for season three, and she sure does look like an interesting one. Meet Falke, the Guardian Hawk.

Now, as fans will remember, Street Fighter V didn’t get off to the most illustrious start. On its launch in February 2016, the game was shockingly barebones in terms of content. As has become pretty darn common these days, it was pushed through Capcom’s Game-o-Matic machine before being quite finished.

The saving grace of this whole trend, however, is that developers can easily add substantial patches and updates after the fact. Much like Nintendo’s madcap Switch fighter ARMS, Street Fighter V has steadily grown since its initial release and is in much better shape than it was at first.

Not least of which in terms of the roster. In late February of this year, series stalwart Blanka finally arrived in the game. In the coming months, fellow veteran Sagat is on the way, along with Cody and the mysterious and enigmatic ‘G.’ Before that, though, let’s check out Falke, who joins the fight on April 24.

Street Fighter V’s Next DLC Character Is Falke, A Staff-Wielding Clone Of M. Bison

As Eurogamer reports, she’s an alternative clone of franchise villain M. Bison. As such, she has similar abilities to control Psycho Power, though this manifests in completely different ways to Bison’s own. Falke wields a staff she’s named Harmony, which allows her to infuse objects with Psycho Power. What does this mean? Judging by the gameplay trailer PlayStation have just dropped, it means a darn heaping helping of projectiles.

Bison, of course, isn’t a ranged character by any stretch. His skillset revolves around bouncing off of your head and/or PSYCHO CRUSHER-ing your hopes, dreams and earthly soul into oblivion. By contrast, Falke seems to implement a lot of projectiles, covering all sorts of angles with different shots. She sure looks handy at melee distance too, though.

As is the case with many additions to fighting game rosters, she bears a resemblance to several characters from the series (Rolento in particular), but still manages to feel distinct and different. What do you think of the brief look we’ve had so far? Might you even drop some of your hard-earned Fight Money for Falke?
