It's been reported that Warner Media has quietly delayed Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League until 2023, according to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier. Rocksteady's latest project was expected to launch later this year but has now allegedly been pushed back into next year.

It's not too unexpected that Warner Bros has delayed Suicide Squad, especially when you consider the publisher has other high-profile titles in the works for 2022. Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga are all still expected to release this year, although neither of the first two has a concrete release date just yet.

As for why the game has been delayed, the pandemic has understandably affected development studios under Warner Bros quite hard, with some studios struggling to adapt to a wrok-from-home schedule. Several titles having already been delayed, including Hogwarts Legacy which was delayed into 2022 back in January last year alongside Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga which was delayed in April.

There has even been reports that developer at TT Games are currently suffering from crunch conditions, with one story suggesting that the studio's co-founder would shout at employees for trying to leave on time. Hopefully, Rocksteady isn't under the same conditions and the game has just been pushed back for polish, because what we've seen so far looks very promising.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League's first gameplay trailer was shown off during The Game Awards last year, with the titular Suicide Squad going up against Braniac's forces as well as what looked like an evil version of The Flash.

Each hero's weapons and skills were also shown off, with the gameplay and combat overall looking very different to we expect from Rocksteady and the Arkham franchise. Unfortunately, it's looking like we'll have to wait until next year to experience it for ourselves, but fingers crossed Rocksteady is given the time it needs to make sure everyone's favorite anti-heroes are the best that they can be.

Developing.
