A new advert for The Super Mario Bros. Movie gives us a first look at what Seth Rogen's Donkey Kong will sound like, as well as confirming that the Cat power-up from Super Mario 3D World will make an appearance. The advert was first shown during the NFC championship, before being uploaded to the official Super Mario Bros. Movie Twitter account. In the clip, we see the same shot of Mario facing Donkey Kong in an arena and getting slapped, before Mario jumps up and hits a Question Mark Block to get a power-up.Related: Losers Are Complaining The Mario Movie Is Woke Because Of Rainbow RoadAlthough you might have expected a Fire Flower to pop out, Mario actually gets the Super Bell from Super Mario 3D World, turning him into Cat Mario, complete with a less-than-menacing "Meow". We then get to hear Seth Rogen's Donkey Kong voice for the first time as he laughs at Mario for turning into a cat, before telling him he's going to die. Guess Donkey Kong didn't see how overpowered the Super Bell was in 3D World, then.

It's only a brief glimpse into Rogen's performance as Donkey Kong, but it certainly sounds like he's just doing his own voice, instead of trying to make DK sound like an ape. Hey, at least he does the iconic laugh we've all been waiting to see come out of an animated Donkey Kong's mouth.

Interestingly, this is the first time that we've had any kind of indication that the Super Bell was going to be in the Super Mario Bros. Movie, as it's surprisingly not been hinted at in the leaked toy lines or McDonald's promotions. A lot of surprises have been leaked or hinted at because of the promotional tie-ins, so it's nice to see that there are still some surprises to be had.

It seems like Illumination is really ramping up marketing for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, as we received a short clip that showed Mario and Toad exploring the Mushroom Kingdom just last month. Let's hope the next look we get shows more of Luigi.
