The producers behind The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Nintendo and Illumination, recently released an advertisement for the film showcasing Mario and Luigi on the job. The elaborate marketing campaign features a website complete with testimonials and job listings for a fictional business called Super Mario Bros. Plumbing.

The trailer consists of a fake advertisement for Super Mario Bros. Plumbing and includes what appears to be a redone version of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show theme. Mario and Luigi can be seen driving around in a truck and fixing pipes to the sound of rap music. The advertisement concludes with a screen showing a telephone number and website along with a picture of the famous plumbers.

“Welcome to Super Mario Bros. Plumbing! We are brothers and yes, we are super,” the website explains. “My little (but taller) brother, Luigi, and I were tired of dealing with spiky bosses, so we jumped at the opportunity to take on Brooklyn’s plumbing problems all by ourselves. Family-owned and operated, we aim to one-up the competition with our expert white-glove service.”

When it comes to the testimonials, the reviews are somewhat mixed, featuring both positive and negative feedback. Mario and Luigi are conversely referred to as the “best in the business” and entirely “subpar.” Written by users with names like SpikeIsCool, these testimonials are of course fake, but contain no small amount of comedy.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be available for viewing in theaters beginning on April 7, 2023. The film is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic based on a screenplay by Matthew Fogel. The movie stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
