Super Nintendo World might be the most anticipated addition to Universal Studios since the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. To add to fans' excitement, photos were posted to Twitter of recent developments to the attraction.

Stated to be behind the JAWS Ride, a Twitter account linked with Universal Studios Japan posted three pictures showing part of Super Nintendo World. These include a picture providing an overview of what could be an area from a 2D Mario game, the flag marking the end of a level in a 2D Mario game, and a POW block associated with granting the player either coins or power-ups.

The pictures also have multiple cloud-like platforms reminiscent of a 2D Super Mario level.

The tweet reiterates that Super Nintendo World will be opening in the Spring of 2020. This would indicate that it will open around the time of the Summer Olympics taking place in Tokyo. As such, its opening is likely meant to coincide with the Olympics and could attract Olympics' attendees as well as other tourists.

Apparently, the theme park's first attractions will include a Yoshi's Adventures and Mario Kart ride. The Mario Kart attraction is a particularly great idea as it is theoretically similar to racing rides from other theme parks and is based on one of Nintendo's most successful spin-off franchises.

While Super Nintendo World's construction is chugging along at Universal Studios Japan with a stated opening date, no date has been specified for the Universal Studios Hollywood rendition. Furthermore, Universal Studios Orlando has yet to receive any kind of update on its own Super Nintendo World iteration.

For all Nintendo fans out there, this must surely be an exciting event. Super Nintendo World will theoretically bring Nintendo's franchises to life in the most immersive way possible. It is a fan's dream come true and any Nintendo fans attending the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2020 should surely check out Super Nintendo World and its attractions.
