Super Smash Bros. Ultimate already has an impressive roster, featuring Nintendo icons and unsung heroes on top of third-party mainstays. However, there are many popular gaming characters that some feel have been left out of the game, leaving certain holes that could be filled.

Luckily, the fighters for Super Smash Bros Ultimate aren't done yet, as Nintendo is working through the Fighters Pass. Joker from Persona 5 is the first character (Piranha Plant notwithstanding), but there are more to be revealed. As we're nearing the reveal of more characters, we'll take a look at 10 fighters missing from Super Smash Bros Ultimate who have a chance to make it as DLC.

10 BANDANA WADDLE DEE

It's been quite a while since the Kirby franchise gained a new character in Super Smash Bros. Since Brawl, the line-up has consisted of Kirby, King Dedede, and Meta Knight. Because the later Kirby games often included a Bandana Waddle Dee as the fourth playable character, many believed that it was the perfect candidate to become a new fighter.

Bandana Waddle Dee would add a new moveset to the game, wielding a spear rather than a sword. It would also feel right at home in the franchise. If a Piranha Plant can make it in the game, so can an adorable Waddle Dee.

9 A GEN VIII POKéMON

The announcement of Pokémon Sword and Shield has the fanbase itching for more information. Because Pokémon gets great representation in Super Smash Bros, there is already a gap forming with the upcoming Gen VIII.

As Sword and Shield are coming out and new Pokémon are revealed, it would seem odd if a character from those games doesn't make it as DLC for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. With a mainline Pokémon game making the jump to Switch, putting one of the new characters in Super Smash Bros would be a great way to promote it.

8 BANJO & KAZOOIE

There were a lot of great platformers on the N64, but one of the big characters that hasn't gotten much love is Banjo and Kazooie. These two starred in two of the most beloved games on the system, and remain popular as a result.

With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate bringing back more legacy characters like Simon Belmont and Cloud Strife, it seems that Banjo and Kazooie would be next on the list. Rare's games were important to Nintendo's history, and tossing in Banjo and Kazooie would be a natural fit.

7 TAILS

Despite the popularity of Sonic the Hedgehog and how well the series has been represented in Super Smash Bros, Sonic remains the only representative from those games. While people wanted Shadow as an echo fighter, the character that should get a spot on the roster first is Tails.

Tails has been the sidekick to Sonic since Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He is a loyal friend and a mainstay of the franchise. With Knuckles and Shadow as assist trophies, Tails remains the only other main character to not get any specific representation in Super Smash Bros. It feels weird not to have him as a part of the game.

6 IMPA

The Legend of Zelda has a good amount of characters, but with three Links, two Zeldas, and a Ganondorf, it doesn't explore the array of interesting characters in Hyrule. Some thought Skull Kid would be a playable character at some point, but he remains an assist trophy. One character who could get in is Impa.

She has appeared consistently in most of the Zelda games. She also got a re-design in Hyrule Warriors that made her look like a dangerous and capable fighter. Impa is likely the fourth most important character to the franchise, so it would make sense to include her next. The Zelda series needs new characters in Smash Bros.

5 DIXIE KONG

The Donkey Kong franchise finally got the long-requested King K. Rool in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. With this villain entering the mix, fans were satisfied. However, there is another important character from the series who many thought would be an echo fighter for Diddy Kong: Dixie Kong.

With Dixie Kong starring in her own game and being closely connected to Diddy Kong, it only makes sense that she'd be in the game too. As it stands, there seems to be a missing Kong on the roster. If any new Donkey Kong character should be added to the game, it should be Dixie Kong.

4 SEPHIROTH

While the addition of Cloud Strife and Midgar from Final Fantasy VII in Super Smash Bros was exciting, it's clear that Final Fantasy representation in that game is at a very basic level. There are only two tracks, no assist trophies, and no items. Final Fantasy should get more representation (at least in the music department).

However, the game has labeled the series as solely Final Fantasy VII, implying that we won't get content from other games. As a result, Sephiroth would probably be the only other character from the franchise to make in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. He would be another villain on the roster, helping to round out the fighters.

3 MS. PAC-MAN

Pac-Man was a welcome addition in Super Smash Bros, and it's great to see him get such excellent representation in the games. With Super Smash Bros Ultimate introducing Echo Fighters and more alternate costumes, it seemed that Ms. Pac-Man was a shoo-in for the new game. However, Pac-Man remains the only character from that franchise.

It seems odd, as Ms. Pac-Man would be easy to implement. The developers wouldn't have to change the model much, and she could be just an alternate costume or an Echo Fighter. Neither of those are confirmed for DLC, but there's always a chance.

2 REX

A lot of fans enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and theorized that Rex and/or Pyra could make it as characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. However, Sakurai confirmed that his team was too far in development to put Rex in the game, which is what led to the Mii costume making it in.

That said, there still seems to be a Xenoblade Chronicles 2-shaped hole in the game. A Mii costume is far from the real thing. It's possible that Rex could still be a playable character somewhere down the line. After all, Shulk is getting pretty lonely as the only Xenoblade Chronicles fighter.

1 CRASH BANDICOOT

A lot of classic gaming icons have gotten spots in Super Smash Bros Ultimate's roster. What the game hasn't approached is the platformer competition during the 1990s, in the form of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon. Crash was the direct competitor to Mario, with Sony directly using their new marsupial to battle Nintendo.

Sonic is already in the game, meaning that Crash is the only other major platforming rival that has yet to make it in. Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy is already on the Nintendo Switch, so it's possible that it could point to our favorite bandicoot becoming a playable fighter.
