The Minecraft World stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will have selectable Biomes, but you will need to input special button command to access them all.

Steve from Minecraft is the next DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The people who purchase Steve (or receive him as part of the second Fighters Pass) will also receive skins based on Alex, a Zombie, and Enderman, as well as the Minecraft World stage and several songs from the franchise. The Minecraft World stage has similarities to the Mario Maker stage, as it has random elements that are generated when it loads for the first time.

The SmashBrosJP Twitter page has revealed that it's possible to load specific Biomes on Minecraft World by using different button combinations on the stage select screen. If the player just selects Minecraft World by pressing the A button, then the game will randomly choose one of the Biomes.

The following commands will select different Biomes -

  • If the player presses L and A, then the Plains Biome with a village will be selected.
  • If the player presses L, R, and A, then the Birch Forest Biome with wild animals will be selected.
  • If the player presses L, A, and pushes up on the left stick, then the Savanna Biome will be selected.
  • If the player presses L, A, and pushes right on the left stick, then the Taiga Biome with a village will be selected.
  • If the player presses L, A, and pushes down on the left stick, then the Snowy Tundra Biome with villagers and an igloo will be selected.
  • If the player presses L, A, and pushes left on the left stick, then the Stone Shore Biome with a platform will be selected.

The Minecraft World stage offers a lot of possibilities for fun matches, but it's likely not going to be a competitively viable stage for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, due to its random nature. It took a long time for Steve to come to Smash Bros. and it's clear that Masahiro Sakurai and his team have put a lot of work into making the character feel as true to Minecraft as possible, right down to the random worlds.
