Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet’s opening movie was recently posted on YouTube, and it’s an absolutely epic preview of the game.

Fan’s of the original anime series will find the scenes immediately recognizable as Sword Art Online’s second season, which takes place in the fictional game world of Gun Gale Online. The world appears as a post-apocalyptic Earth, with players assuming the roles of guns for hire.

The opening theme shows an interesting mix of events from the show as well as new characters created for the upcoming game. As expected with the universe, all of them appear heavily armed and typically anime-styled. According to the Sword Art Online wiki, there will be a host of returning characters, including the Kirito, Sinon, and the killer antagonist Sterben.

Plenty of scenes from the anime are inserted into the opener, including the scene where Kirito takes pistol shots and an on-rushing Sterben. The latter third of the into seem to be scenes from the game itself, with possibly the player character as one of the many persons with flamboyantly colored hair. One would think that camouflage would be important in the world of Gun Gale, but apparently not.

The intro ends with a reminder that pre-ordering the game will net you a bunch of goodies not available to more patient gamers, such as a fancy assault rifle and a pair of costumes to make you look like Kirito or Asuna from the show. If you’re really into the series, then you can order the digital deluxe version for a gold version of said assault rifle and even fancier costumes of Kirito and Asuna.

If you’re flat-out bonkers about Sword Art you can get the season pass which comes with photon swords and a guitar launcher, which is basically a rocket launcher disguised as a guitar. Camouflage evidently exists for the weapons, but not the people.

Previous Sword Art games have received a lukewarm reception from gamers at large, with fans of the series getting the most out of them. There’s hope that Fatal Bullet will be the breakout success that the developers are longing for.

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet will hit Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on February 23rd.
