Secrets of the Jungle is coming to Netflix next month, and you can bag yourself two limited edition Pokemon in Sword and Shield to celebrate its arrival in the west.

Nothing will make you feel older than recalling the time you went to see the first Pokemon movie at the cinema while watching the trailer below. It showcases the story and western release date of Pokemon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, the 23rd movie in the Pokemon franchise. That's right, there have now been 22 movies since Mewtwo turned Ash to stone and Pokemon tears brought him back from the brink of death.

Even if you don't like the look of Secrets of the Jungle, you might still be able to benefit from its release. To celebrate the movie's arrival outside of Japan, two limited edition Pokemon will be added to Sword and Shield. All you have to do to get them is sign up for the Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter before September 25, 2021.

Doing so will get you a Dada Zarude and a Shiny Celebi, both of which play roles in Secrets of the Jungle. The only catch is you'll have to wait until Secrets of the Jungle launches on Netflix to redeem the two codes you'll receive after you sign up for the newsletter.

While Shiny Celebi is self-explanatory and worth signing up for the newsletter alone, Dada Zarude might need to be explained. Secrets of the Jungle follows Ash and Pikachu into the jungle where they befriend a boy called Koko who has been raised in the wild by a banished Zarude. That's Dada Zarude, the Pokemon you will soon be able to add to your Sword and Shield roster if you follow the steps above.

2021 has been a busy year for Pokemon fans and it shows no sign of slowing down. Secrets of the Jungle is still to come, as is Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on Nintendo Switch. Not to mention Pokemon Legends: Arceus that will hit the Switch in January 2022. There will also be a Secrets of the Jungle tie-in to Pokemon Go announced at a later date.
