We are always looking for the next best show that we can sit down on our couch and just binge watch until there are no episodes left. To be honest, it can be a bit of a guilty pleasure, but we often times find ourselves bored with the typical shows that you see on TV these days. Let’s be honest, things like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and Say Yes To The Dress are the last things that we want to indulge in. We usually want something that is either going to be action packed or drama filled that will help escape our day to day lives for even just an hour. There is, however, a TV network that a lot of people seem to forget about these days, a network that sometimes houses some of the best most binge-worthy shows ever, a network that has shows that are everything we have ever asked for in a show.

The Syfy television network has been home to some of the most intense shows that we have ever seen, but in that same breath, we can also admit that there have been a lot of shows on there that ended being complete fails and canceled after season one. Whether you are in search of a new show to binge watch, or you are just curious as to what other people think of these shows, we have put together a list of 10 of the best Syfy shows ever made and 20 of the absolute worst that they have ever aired.

29 Worst: We Hate To Be Killjoys

via: tvseriesfinale.com

The show Killjoys circles around a group of bounty hunters, but it focuses more specifically around one specific bounty hunter named Dutch. Dutch is not only strikingly beautiful, but she also has the ability to win over the trust of literally everyone that she meets. The others have their special little gifts as well but are not as prominent. This show started in 2015 and is still going to this day, but if you have seen it once then odds are you are like us and see it ending sometime in the near future.

28 Worst: Van Helsing Deserves Better

via: syfy.com

Van Helsing is a show that is somewhat of a remake of the classic Dracula story that takes place in a world totally dominated by vampires. No, not the kind of vampires you see in those silly Twilight movies either.

They're real, scary blood-hungry vampires.

The first episode of this show aired in 2016 and it is still going strong today, but honestly, it got played out really quick and it is starting to seem as though the creators are really pushing it with the storyline. We really would not be surprised if it gets canceled soon.

27 Best: 12 Monkeys Is A Time Traveling Epic

via: bustle.com

The show 12 Monkeys is a television series on the Syfy channel that first aired in the year 2015 and is still running to this day. It is a science fiction mystery/drama that has a plot revolving around time travel. This show is not to be mistaken for the 1995 film, 12 Monkeys, although it is based on that movie.

In this show, about 95 percent of the world’s population has been eliminated the kalavirus.

Time traveler, James Cole, is sent back to the year 2043 to prevent the plague that was the doing of the army of the 12 monkeys, from ever happening. There are only four seasons of this show, but in those four seasons, it had a good run with high ratings and a large fan base, that is, for a Syfy show anyways. Though this show may not be renewed for new seasons, it is still a fantastic show to sit down and binge watch if you are ever in need of a new binge-worthy show. The show 12 Monkeys were no less than successful in its short time on air, and many fans found themselves feeling a little upset when news of its final season came about.

26 Worst: Keep Far Away From Farscape

via: moddb.com

With a running time from 1999 up until the year 2003, you would think that the show Farscape would have had more than enough time to thicken the plot and make things more exciting. However, viewers were left wondering why they even started watching this show in the first place. In this show, when an experimental mission goes wrong and an astronaut finds himself thrown across the universe and teams up with some rebels to find their way back to earth. Don’t let that description fool you though, because what this show lacks is good acting and a plot that we can follow.

25 Worst: We Don't Believe These Paranormal Witnesses

via reddit.com

Paranormal Witness, though it actually started on a different network, is another paranormal investigation show, although it is arguably one of the worst ones around. This show is all about people telling stories of what happened to them in their paranormal experiences, while it is sure to send chills up and down your spine, the reenactments tend to be a bit on the ridiculous side. This show might be good for a spooky night with the kids, but the stories can be a bit hard to believe most of the time.

24 Best: The Ghost Hunters Did Their Job Well

via: the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com

One of the biggest shows to ever hit the Syfy network was, of course, Ghost Hunters. The show Ghost Hunters ran from the year 2004 up until 2016. It was a reality show that followed a paranormal investigation group called, the ghost hunters, as they tried their hardest to debunk all claims of paranormal activity at places all over the world. What made them so different from all of the other ghost hunting shows was that they didn’t go into these places assuming that there were ghosts and trying to make things seem scary for better ratings.

In fact, they did the exact opposite, and they often times left places that were famous for being haunted, leaving the claims totally debunked. There was even an episode in that took place in Topton P.A where claims of a haunting at the town's inn were debunked totally when the ghost hunters noticed that a train track nearby is what caused the tables to shake and a nearby flower shop was the cause of the “perfume” smell. That place has since been given a new name and owner, and the ghost hunters might have played a role in that. This show had some of the best TV ratings of all time and was perfect both believers of the paranormal and nonbelievers.

23 Worst: Helix Is A Snoozefest

Helix

This next show actually peaked the interest of many people as it was described as a show where two people working for the CDC make their way to a government base where a disease outbreak is unlike any that they have ever seen before. The battle against this unknown disease could lead to mankind’s salvation or ultimately, the end of mankind. This is another show that only lasted one season despite its rock solid description because once people started watching it they never really made it past episode one. Who could blame them though? We almost fell asleep watching it ourselves!

22 Worst: Dark Matter Is Better Left In The Dark

via: theverge.com

The show Dark Matter is all about a crew of people on a spaceship who awaken to find their memories have been completely erased. Sent to a remote mining colony they are left to fend for themselves, fight to survive, and live their lives anew. Some people venture off their own, some stick with the group. Honestly, this show really seemed to lack action, the acting was poor, and there really just was no hope for it all from the very beginning.

21 Best: Happy Will Make You Happy

via: syfy.com

The show Happy is based on the graphic novel, also named Happy. It follows the life of Nick Sax, a corrupt and intoxicated ex-cop turned hitman as he engages in casual life-taking, grown-up activities, and tons of betrayal. One day after a hit doesn’t turn out quite the way that he expected it to, he ends up with a bullet in his side, the cops and FBI on his tail, and a criminal on the loose.

However, things start to look up for him when he gets accompanied by a tiny imaginary blue winged horse who has such a positive attitude that his name is Happy. The character of Nick Sax is played by none other than ex-SVU star, Christopher Meloni, and they really could not have picked a better person to play this role. The show just started last year and was recently renewed for a season 2, something people all-over are super excited for. With a funny show like this, you really can’t go wrong. Although this show airs on the Syfy network, people who do not get into that specific genre would still be sure to love it, giving it a spot in ten of the best Syfy network shows ever made.

20 Worst: Not Smitten With Bitten

via: syfy.com

The show Bitten is about the life of Elena Michaels, the only female werewolf in existence, who leaves her pack of all males to attempt to live a normal life working as a photographer and hide the fact that she is actually a beast. That is, until her natural instincts kick in and she quickly realizes that living a normal life was never as easy as it had seemed, leading her back to her pack. This show was a good idea in the beginning, but while watching it starts to seem like the producers started running out of ideas, making it more of a trainwreck than anything else.

19 Worst: Being Human Isn't So Easy

via: darkestboy-livejournal.com

The show, Being Human, is actually based off of a BBC show with the same. Maybe they should have stuck with keeping it on BBC too because this show ended up being nothing less than a complete fail.

The show is basically all about a group of roommates who try to keep secrets from the rest of the world.

Those secrets being that one of them is a ghost, the other a vampire, and another one a werewolf, because that’s totally normal. We could understand if maybe they were a group of one of those things, but it sounds like this show just ended up being a total let down. Maybe that is why it got canceled after only three years of being aired.

18 Best: Channel Zero Is Supremely Creepy

via: filmmakermagazine.com

If you want a creepy show that is sure to show up in your nightmares, then Channel Zero is definitely the way to go. Running from the year 2016 to our present year, this show has manage to captivate audiences everywhere with it’s creepy content. In this show, they say that children’s television is supposed to be fun and innocent, but a child psychologist by the name of Mike Painter remembers one kid's show in particular from his childhood that was far from fun or innocent. The only problem with this is that he seems to be the only one that remembers it, and he believes that it is the root cause of some very nightmarish events that took place in his childhood.

Mike returns home in hopes of finding some answers only to discover that what happened when he was a kid is happening all over again, leaving him as one of the only people who can solve what has been going on in his beloved hometown. If the picture that goes onto the cover of this show doesn’t creep you out enough, then we don’t know what will, but whether you are into creepy stuff or not this show has a storyline that is sure to draw in all sorts of people.

17 Worst: Eureka Is Just A Boring Old Town

via- Syfy.com

The show Eureka is based on a town named, you guessed it, Eureka. The population of this town is made up of all of the world’s geniuses, who got placed there following World War II. Their day to day lives typically consist of genius creations or total chaos, and when they create something that manages to get loose, it is up to them to restore order to humanity. This sounds like it might be a decent show, but honestly, it just ended up tanking completely, which is a real shame because there was a lot of real potential there. This show was, thankfully, canceled in the year 2012

16 Worst: No Continuation For Continuum

via- threeifbyspace.com

In a world where technology is so prominent that it has basically taken over the lives of everyone, a cop named Kiera from the year 2077 becomes trapped in present-day Vancouver. Kiera needs to stop a group of criminals that end up ruling the world in the year that she is originally from. This show aired from the year 2012 up until 2015 when it met its demise due to poor ratings, and it really is no wonder why. This show lacked originality and a strong plot leaving people uninterested.

15 Best: Into The Stargate!

via: syfy.com

One of the all-time best Syfy network shows ever known is hands down Stargate SG-1, there is no doubt about that. This show is about a team of explorers who travel through an ancient portal known as a stargate that takes them to other planets.

They get to explore new worlds, interact with alien life, and protect Earth from hostile forces.

When it comes to science fiction it really does not get much better than this show. Running on the Sci Fi Channel from the year 2002 to the year 2007 (though the show started in 1997), Stargate SG-1 certainly did have a good run with some of the best ratings around.

14 Worst: Con Man Cons Us With Its Entertainment Value

via: syfy.com

The series Con Man circles around the life of a former Syfy celebrity. This show started as a web series and is said to fall under the comedy genre, but we fail to see the humor in it. Con Man ran from September of 2015 up until January of 2017 when it was canceled due to its very poor ratings. This was not at all surprising to us, it may be critically acclaimed, but that does not make it good in our eyes.

13 Worst: Wynonna Earp Isn't A Western

via: playbuzz.com

Wynonna Earp, the name of the show but also the name of the main character, is about a girl who has strayed from purgatory to live up to her role as a demon protector. If you get into the type of movies that revolve solely around deceased people, Heaven and the Underworld, and angels and demons, then this show might be the right fit for you. However, we just found it to be totally unrealistic, unimpressive, and far from entertaining, making it land on our list of the worst Syfy shoes ever.

12 Best: Doctor Who?

via: shownsob.com

The show Doctor Who no doubt has one of the biggest fan bases of a Syfy show ever, of course, Doctor Who wasn’t always a Syfy show, but that certainly does not affect the pure awesomeness of it.

In this show, you get to watch someone known as the doctor as he travels through time and space in his big blue Tardis.

When the show's reboot first started we got to see the doctor form a romance with the very young, Rose, but when that ended fans were pretty upset. Though they did understand, and we have since then seen companions come and go. With an awesome show like this o,ne it is no wonder why it ended up on our list of the best shows.

11 Worst: Superstition Has Its Fingers Crossed

via- Blackgirlnerds.com

The show Superstition focuses around the life of a family who owns the only funeral home in town, which would sound pretty normal if you ask us, but of course, this is Syfy so things do take a weird turn.

Not only does this family own a funeral home, but they also fight demons and other weird phenomena.

The show came to be in 2017, and though there is currently talk of it being canceled, no one really knows yet. Although we really wouldn’t be that upset if it did get canceled.

10 Worst: Cosplay Melee Sounds Good On Paper

via: syfy.com

Cosplay Melee is a show where cosplayers showcase their perfect cosplay costumes and compete for a grand prize of ten thousand dollars. For some people, this might seem like a fun show to watch, and honestly, the first couple of episodes are, but much like Face Off, after that, it just starts to become boring and old news. Besides, the amount spent on some of those costumes is probably about the same as the grand prize, making us wonder if it is really even worth it to begin with.
