Taco Bell is officially entering the board game scene with the release of Taco Bell Party Pack Card Game later this year. The company producing this new, easy-to-learn card game, Ravensburger, is also responsible for family board games such as Enchanted Forest and Labyrinth.
This isn't the first time that Taco Bell has ventured into the world of gaming. Last year, Taco Bell announced an Xbox Series X Giveaway and has offered similar promotions in the past. Establishing partnerships in gaming is not the only way that Taco Bell has proven to be innovative and unafraid to take risks. They also did a menu overhaul last year, which made waves amongst Taco Bell's most loyal fans.
According to BoardGameGeek, players of the card game collect a variety of Taco Bell menu items in order to satisfy a crew of hungry Taco Bell fans. Some of the game's featured menu items include favorites such as crunchy tacos, bean burritos, and Freezes. Players must satisfy the specific cravings of each member of their crew in order to earn crave chips—tokens that resemble tortilla chips—and can also use "sauce cards" to gather extra food items. The crave chips include a surprising amount of points that are revealed at the end of the game, and the player with the most points is declared the winner.
Taco Bell Party Pack Game is intended to be a quick game played among two to six players, lasting only around 20-minutes. It comes in a party pack-style box reminiscent of the restaurant's taco boxes. Comicbook.com offers additional details about the components of the game, which include 112 meal cards, 50 crew cards, and 18 chip tokens. They also mention a recommended retail price of $16.99 and an expected release date of June 2021.
