Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a game packed with choices. Some determine the outcome of critical narrative events, sending hero Denam on one of three markedly different story routes. Many choices are tied with gameplay, from which classes to pick for each character to which path is safest across a battle map.
But before you can begin the game in earnest, the Starseer Warren asks you a series of questions via tarot cards. Your answers are crucial to determining Denam's starting stats and element. No matter what class you envision for the protagonist, we'll help you pick the proper answers to suit your fighting fancy.
Every Tarot Answer's Stat Adjustments
Below, our table will cover each tarot card's queries. Players will only receive five of these questions, randomly selected, when starting the game. Find yours, which is an easy feat since the names are written at the top of your screen as you answer. Do you want your Denam to start out with a small boost to Strength? Agility? Intelligence? Here's how to do it.
What about your birthday? Consider it a bit of flavor. It won't affect Denam's stats. Do you want to enter your own birthday? Go for it. Do you want to choose a month that sounds rad? Do that instead. Does your own birthday correspond with a cool-sounding month? Terrific!
Remember, these stat boosts are relatively small, so when we say 'Major', we're only talking a few points more than the rest.

Choosing A Patron Deity
After you've answered your five-question set and modestly influenced Denam's stats, the game requests that you select a deity. The element of your chosen deity becomes Denam's element (until and unless you change it with an Elemental Mark at some point in the game).
Only six of the eight elements in Tactics Ogre are covered here. In the PSP version of Tactics Ogre, subtitled 'Let Us Cling Together', it was possible to choose between the Light and Dark deities as well. There are (highly limited) opportunities to acquire these Elemental Marks throughout the adventure.
Which element you pick for Denam means achieving even greater power with weapons and spells of the same type. Elements also have their own elemental strengths and weaknesses, slightly empowering your characters in certain circumstances whilst slightly enfeebling them in others.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, there's no "wrong" answer here. Since you can't pick Light or Dark, their dualistic nature is off the menu. We haven't noticed a higher number of foes of any given element than the rest. There are more than enough options for elementally-infused weapons and spells to make any suggestion serviceable.
In the final telling, pick your favorite and go from there. You'll find plenty of marks for the base six elements throughout the game if and when you change your mind, as well as a stalwart few Light Marks and Dark Marks if you're feeling, you know, saintly or devilish.
