Tales of Arise has several ways to buff your and your party member's stats, each critical in their own right and that help hone each character's skills and specialty. One of the more essential aspects of the game is the Accessories that allow you to assign buffs to characters and perks such as more health, more damage, or better item drops.

With Tales of Arise's incredible cast of characters, assigning the best fitting Accessories to them is crucial, making them shine in combat encounters and, in some cases, even when exploring the sprawling world of Dahna. There are many things to see and do in Tales of Arise, and having the best Accessories will make your journey a bit easier.

Accessories Overview

A breakdown of Shionne's Accessory Skills in Tales of Arise

Accessories are craftable Equipment for your party members that will give them an extra edge in battle. In Tales of Arise, Accessories will enable you to resist status ailments entirely, reduce casting time on spells, move faster, and much more. These are essentially additional abilities that live outside of the Skill Panel, allowing you to fine-tune your party.

However, crafting Accessories requires materials and lots of them, especially the high-end ones. Additionally, you will eventually obtain the ability to craft high-end Accessories that contain four Skill Slots, which are additional perks and buffs that give you a tremendous edge in battle in addition to the primary skill of the Accessory.

When You Can Craft Accessories

The ability to craft Accessories comes pretty early in Tales of Arise. It becomes available whenever you gain access to forging new weapons in Ulzebek, the first town you visit in the game. While you won't be able to craft much at first, the list will naturally expand as you find different materials during your adventure.

Below is a step-by-step walkthrough of how to craft Accessories, upgrade them, and even transfer Skills to a new Accessory. You can do many things with Accessories in Tales of Arise, which can be hard to grasp when it's thrown at you. Hopefully, the information below will help you understand the system and develop a unique, powerful Accessory build of your own!

Materials Needed For Crafting Accessories

Most of your materials for crafting Accessories will come from mining mineral deposits and harvesting stone, crystal, and more. However, you will also obtain materials from rare enemies, typically Elite Monsters/Bosses.

Materials also have their own rarity and grading system, with the rarer materials being found in the later areas of the game or dropped by stronger enemies. The rank of the material determines a couple of things, the quality of the Accessory and the Enhancement progress. However, we will touch on the Enhancing process a bit later.

How To Craft Accessories

You can Craft Accessories by heading to an inn and talking to the Engraver or going to a Campfire and talking to the Shopkeeper. From there, you can select the Craft Accessory option and can then scroll through the list of Accessories available to you.

After selecting the one that catches your eye, you will have to pick the quality of Ore you'd like to craft the accessory with — this is where the rating system mentioned earlier comes into play. From here, you will see every Skill available to you on the right side of the screen and its corresponding rank.

The better quality of Ore selected, the more Skills the Accessory will have, with four being the maximum limit.

Enhancing Your Accessories

After you have crafted your Accessory, you will notice that it has none of the Skills unlocked for it yet, which is precisely where the Enhance feature comes into play. Back out to the main Accessory menu and select Enhance Accessory. From there, you will see a list of every Accessory that is eligible for an upgrade.

Select the Accessory you wish to upgrade and you should then see another list of Materials with rankings beside them. These materials are essentially every Accessory Material you currently have on you and allow you to level up your Accessory by feeding them into it.

For example, each level requires a specific number of Materials but goes off of the Material's Rank rather than a sheer volume. So, if you need five points to advance to the next level, a Level Three Material and a Level Two Material will be enough to get you there. You do not need to put in five individual pieces of Materials (unless you want to dispose of five Level One Materials).

Transferring Skills

The final step you need to learn when it comes to Accessories in Tales of Arise is how to move a Skill from one Accessory to another, which allows you to keep incredibly powerful Skills when upgrading to a new Accessory. This system is handy for the end game section of Tales of Arise, as you will have tons of materials handy by then.

This method helps you get the Skills you want on the Accessories you want, so as long as you have the Skill on another Accessory. For example, you might have a +400 HP Skill on your Level Three Accessory, but your new Level Five Accessory has no HP Skills and instead has one that would be useless for the character you want to have equipped with it.

You will be able to swap out the useless skill with the +400 HP one and craft the ultimate Accessory. However, keep in mind that every Skill is random when crafting a new Accessory, so you will not be able to choose which Skills they have by default.

Furthermore, if you see a Skill you want on a Level Two, Three, or Four Accessory, you can craft it and then use the Transfer system to move that Skill over to a Level Five Accessory to beef it up. Overall, Transferring Skills is an incredible feature that you must take advantage of to get the most out of Accessories and your Party. Below is a step-by-step walkthrough on how to Transfer Skills to another Accessory.

  • Select the Base Accessory
    • Note: This is the Accessory you want to receive a new Skill.

  • Select the Skill from the "Transferrable Skills" list
  • Select the Skill you want to replace
  • Confirm the Transfer
    • Note: This will destroy the Accessory you extracted the Skill from
