Several crucial systems in Tales of Symphonia Remastered will give you a significant advantage in combat if you take full advantage of them, with EX-Skills being one of the more important ones. While EX-Skills only offer passive traits, they also influence the Tech you learn when leveling up and meeting specific milestones in battle.

If you prefer a character's Strike or Technical Tree, you can use EX-Skills to tip the scale in its favor, allowing you to hard-focus on earning Tech from a specific Tree. Not only is this beneficial for every character, but it also enables you to get the most out of every party member, making it an excellent way to compose builds.

EX-Skills Overview

Before we dive into each character's EX-Skills, let's go over the basics to highlight their role and importance to the overall combat system of Tales of Symphonia Remastered. First and foremost, EX-Skills are only one part of the comprehensive EX system, as they can also be used to grant you Compound EX-Skills, which are better passive effects obtained by equipping two or more specific EX-Gems at the same time.

Due to the importance and valuableness of Compound EX-Skills, you will want to weigh your options and consider them before making your decision. EX-Gems cannot be unequipped, meaning they can only be replaced with other EX-Gems. Furthermore, you can only obtain EX-Gems by Stealing from Bosses, defeating them, looting Chests, or purchasing them from the Katz from Asgard, Triet, Palmacosta, Hima, and Luin. However, while buying them may sound like a good idea, we suggest against doing so as it requires Grade, the currency used to carry specific things over to New Game Plus.

Lastly, each character can equip up to four EX-Skills, and every EX-Gem has four levels, each containing different passive effects and bonuses. As a result, the aforementioned Compound EX-Skills require specific Gems, so you do not want to toss all Level Four EX-Gems on your character, as they will likely not synergize together to create a Compound EX-Skill. You can find every playable character's EX-Skills, Gems, and how to obtain their Compound EX-Skills in the sections below!

In addition to his EX-Skills, you can find the complete list of his Tech and how to acquire them here. Presea Combatir EX-Skills

As touched on in our other guides numerous times, Presea may be one of the most underutilized characters in the game, which is a bummer to see, as she can be pretty strong with the proper build. Nonetheless, like essentially everyone else here, Presea shines brightest when using her Technical Tech and following that tree, enabling her to obtain some of her best Tech. The tables below - you guessed it - showcase what you can expect out of her EX-Gems and Compound EX-Skills!

Lastly, we have Regal, who joins Lloyd and Colette as one of the few characters in Tales of Symphonia Remastered who benefit the most from their Strike Tech Tree. While he can be an absolute powerhouse, like Presea, he is one of the least-used characters in the game by a wide margin. Nonetheless, you can find his complete Tech list here, and the tables below will give you the full rundown on his EX-Gems, Skills, and Compound EX-Skills.
