Regarding the game's overall combat system, Tech is the backbone of every character and makes all nine distinct and valuable in their own way. While there is plenty of Tech to learn, the unlock requirements aren't too harsh, unlike some Mystic Artes, which can be a considerable timesink to obtain.

Lloyd Irving Tech

Lloyd has several enticing Tech and ties Sheena for having the most Tech in the game at 36. While this won't cover the character's Mystic Artes or Compound Special Attacks, it will cover all the requirements needed to obtain his base Tech and what his Technical (T) and Strike (S) routes offer. Remember, you can influence which Tech you receive by equipping EX-Skills of your preferred Tech Tree. For Lloyd, we recommend going for his Strike Tech first, as they offer his best abilities overall.

Colette Brunel Tech

Colette has 25 Tech to unlock, making her have the second-fewest of the bunch. However, she makes good work of them, as she can be the highest damaging character in the entire game if you build her correctly. Like Lloyd, Colette benefits tremendously from her Strike Tree compared to her Tech Tree, so we strongly urge you to go down that path first if you're looking to wreck shop with her as early as possible. As mentioned, this only covers her base Tech, leaving out her Mystic Artes.

Genis Sage Tech

Falling just slightly behind Lloyd and Sheena, Genis has 35 Tech to acquire, all of which can be devastating if used correctly and with a solid build. Unlike the past couple, Genis is at his best when using abilities from his Technical Tree, which we recommend using EX-Skills to skew him in that direction as soon as possible. While this only does cover his basic Tech, you can find out how to obtain his Mystic Arte here.

Raine Sage Tech

Raine is the best healing-based character in Tales of Symphonia Remastered, and while she may only have 26 Tech, they're all immensely valuable for the party and will keep everyone alive and in the fight. However, like her brother, Raine is much better when she's using the abilities from her Technical Tree, as they enable her to perform party-wide heals and defensive buffs. You can find out how to obtain her Mystic Arte here and earn all her basic Tech with the table below!

Sheena Fujibayashi Tech

As touched on much earlier in this guide, Sheena is tied with Lloyd for having the most Tech in the game with 36. But, in her case, it's due in large part thanks to her ability to Summon Spirits into an encounter whenever she enters her Over Limit State. In addition to that, Sheena can also use the pacts forged with these Spirits to use their Seals, imbuing party members' attacks with specific elemental damage. Like the past couple, Sheena shines brightest by following her Technical Tree, so target that whenever you can.

Next up are Zelos and Kratos, who share the exact same Tech Trees, except for one ability that is exclusive to Kratos. Zelos has access to 28 Tech total, with Kratos' additional Tech placing him at 29. Both can unleash mass amounts of damage and are immensely powerful when using the Tech learned from their Technical Trees. The table below will showcase how to unlock all of their Tech and will clearly mark which one is exclusive to Kratos. For Zelos' Mystic Arte, follow this link. If you're looking for Kratos' Mystic Arte, you can find that here.

Presea Combatir Tech

Presea has the fewest Tech in Tales of Symphonia Remastered with 22 but still does sizeable damage with the proper build. While we wish she had much more Tech, her current selection can be relatively robust if you know what you're doing with them, and her Technical Tree will help you get to where you need to be with her. There's no denying that Presea does lack when compared to some of the other options out there, but she can be a clutch option for some boss encounters in the game. Before diving into the table below, if you want to know how to obtain her Mystic Artes, head here.

Regal is yet another underutilized character by a large margin in Tales of Symphonia Remastered and only has 26 Tech to work with. However, like Presea, with a solid build behind him and the power of his Technical Tree on his side, you can turn Regal into a viable option in crucial situations. His Mystic Artes can be found here, with the rest of his basic Tech being found in the table below.
