Tales of Symphonia Remastered leads you into a land of wonder where you must team up with those you meet along your journey to prevent the end of your world. It’s a tried-and-true storytelling method with a layer of unintentionally comedic dialogue for good measure.

If you’ve finished the main portion of Tales of Symphonia, don't worry; there is still tons to do before completing your journey. That’s what JRPGs are all about, after all! Would it really be a JRPG if there weren’t hours upon hours of additional content to play through before closing the game for the final time?

9 Search Everything, Leave No Stone Unturned

The cast of Tales of Symphonia

Look through everything, loot everything, explore everything, and ensure you see all there is to find. It doesn't matter how insignificant it may look since there is so much to see in Symphonia that's worth searching for and collecting if necessary. From the room off the beaten path to idle places around a village, everything is there to experience.

Looking through everything sounds like a chore, and you don’t have to follow this like a step-by-step guide, but the point is to spend more time exploring your surroundings before progressing to the next area.

8 Play Through Any Side Missions Of Interest

So you want to learn more about your fighting buddies, and you want it in the form of a side quest? Symphonia has it. You could also collect the best weapons in the game by completing various tasks. Everything is waiting to be played, and the best thing about it? You don’t have to complete the ones that don’t sound interesting to you.

Tales of Symphonia has many side quests, content, collectibles, costumes, weapons, and titles. All of it is waiting to be found and played, but you only have to do the ones that look enticing to you.

7 Play Dress Up

Titles usually provide stat boosts, but they occasionally offer slick outfits for your team members to wear, which you can equip under the titles section in the menu screen. Unlike other titles, the ones with outfits don’t provide additional stat benefits, so you will have to sacrifice those to dress your character in new sweats.

If you’re seeking all the outfits, you may as well look for any other titles simultaneously since they coincide with one another. They also directly link to the achievements connected to earning all titles for each character.

6 Collect All The Titles

Titles are one way to increase each party member's stats, and you’ll want at least one for each character to buff them up a bit. A couple of Lloyd’s are unlocked through story progression, but you’ll have to follow specific beat-by-beat steps to collect them all for the rest of his and the other members. It’s tough to get all of them, especially with how many are missable due to making certain decisions. It’s doubtful you’ll complete this on the first playthrough.

Collecting all the titles is a long-term plan, although starting it during the endgame can be a great choice as some of these titles are obtained by earning character ranks.

5 Unlock All Mystic Artes

Mystic Artes are your one-stop shop for letting loose the best attacks in the game, and you’ll want to get your hands on them quickly. However, they’re far less easy to unlock than they would be in the standard RPG, and you’ll have to make critical decisions to get them all.

A whole bunch can become missable if you don’t make the right choice or don’t have a character in your active party at the time. If you still have a few missing, you should get back out there and unlock them.

4 Replay On Mania Mode

Before you can play mania mode, you need to complete the game once, and then it will unlock, and well, if you’re here, you will have already done that. Mania Mode is essentially a step up from hard mode, but don’t let this fool you — it is a rough experience, much more so than hard mode, and you’ll want to prepare if you plan to replay the entire game on this setting.

Your characters will need to be leveled up, and you’ll want all the Mystic Artes you can muster up. Have all this, and you might stand a chance, but it’ll still be a tough time.

3 Go For All Devil's Arm Weapons And Fight Abyssion

Devil’s Arms are the best weapons you can have in Symphonia, but you’ll have to do specific steps for each character to obtain them. Everyone has a Devil’s Arm, so there are nine to collect all together, and once you get them all, you have the chance to take on a pretty damn hard boss.

After obtaining Raine’s Devil’s Arm (the final one), you can enter the Temple of Darkness and take on Abyssion, who waits at the very bottom of the temple. No other fight holds a candle to the difficulty of Abyssion, and you’ll want as much brute strength as you can collect before diving into this fight. Any Artes you’ve got up to this point will help immensely.

2 Track Down Wonder Chef

Wonder Chef is one of the best parts of Symphonia, where the game manages to morph this silly concept into something that also has gameplay benefits and doesn’t waste your time. There are 24 encounters with the guy, most rewarding you with a recipe you can then use to cook for your party and provide benefits to the characters.

He can be confusing to find at times, and sometimes you’re more likely to stumble upon him unintentionally than by actively searching. No matter how you find him, seeing this entire side quest through to the end is worth it, as you’ll get to partake in a cooking contest.

1 Take The Completionist Route

So you’ve tried out everything else listed, but it still isn’t enough. Maybe it’s time to take on something much more arduous than anything that came before. If you still want more time to explore new things in Tales of Symphonia, you can always check out your achievements to see which ones are left to unlock.

Quite a few will take hours of grinding or are directly linked to unlocking things like the Artes, costumes, and titles. Some are for the hit numbers you land and how many battles you’ve encountered. You will have earned most of these by this point, making it the best time to collect all the others.
