Tchia is a stunning visual masterpiece that demands its players suspend their busy lives only to dive into a world of deep exploration and mystique. It features a whole host of fun minigames that are meant to keep you engaged with the content it offers.

With so much to do and learn about as you experience playing this game, it would make it a lot easier to have some prior knowledge about what you can accomplish as a player. It can save you a ton of time. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with taking your time to learn how things work yourself too.

10 It’s All About The Music And Visuals

Tchia Jamming Along With Soul Melodies

One of the first things you’ll notice while playing Tchia is just how important and interwoven music is with the entire narrative and visual experience. You can’t walk two feet without having an NPC call you in for a song.

If you’re not into soothing vocals and rhythm-based minigames then this game isn’t your cup of tea. Your ukelele is a big part of the gameplay and it, along with fulfilling quests, bridges the gap between you and the soon-to-be friends you interact with in-game.

9 You Can Soul-Jump Into Anything

Tchia Flying As A Dragonfly

You can turn into practically any animal or thing you encounter, and the game will automatically record it in your journal. You can even turn yourself into a chipped piece of ancient tooth fragment.

It’s hard to explain why or what the purpose of this ability is beyond helping you complete some rather drab objectives. It does make it easier to soul-throw yourself around as an object and interact with objects that are stacked up and waiting to be tumbled over or exploded.

8 Docks Are Broken

Tchia At A Fisherman's Hut At The Dock

Discover as many docks as you can, so the fishermen at the huts can help you fast-travel or spawn a boat at any time. It’s the second-best way to travel long distances across the map.

You get to skip through all the lengthy travel sequences involved with actually riding your boat to the next destination.

Although, the only downsides to traveling like this are having to endure the loading screens and starting your journey from another dock rather than where you’d initially like to be.

7 Tchia Can Go Anywhere

Tchia Removing A Pearl From A Clam Underwater

You can dive down to the sea’s floor to collect items for your quest, although you may encounter trouble if you don’t have enough stamina to swim. It may seem like it’s too deep for Tchia to cover, but you’d be surprised by how resourceful this little magical girl is.

She can even climb high altitudes hard-to-reach cliffs and areas that may seem impossible to end up traversing through. Not just that, you can practically jump your way through most of the obstacles that come your way, without much afterthought.

6 Soul-Jumps Can Save You Time

Tchia Soul-Jumping Into A Dragonfly

If you’re ever in a pinch doing an activity or traversing through the landscape in this video game, just remember that successful soul-jumps recharge your stamina.

That’s right, you can switch bodies with animals like fish and stay underwater a lot longer than you’d initially be able to with your limited stamina.

Since most activities in this game require a certain amount of stamina, you must pace yourself and slowly undertake each arduous task. However, with this trick, you can cut out all the waiting time.

5 The Map Is Crucial

Tchia's Map

It’s an open-world game and the areas end up being much more massive than what you’d initially assume. Try looking at your surroundings while exploring the first few islands, they don’t even compare.

Once you get used to using your map and expanding it, you’ll realize the actual scope of your environment.

From giant mountains to sandy islands dotting the shore, you get to explore every nook and cranny. This means you’ll get lost quite often if you don’t make it a habit to consult your map and see where you are now and then.

4 Some Minigames Are Worth The Hassle

Tchia Carving Totems For A Shrine

Try carving totems to get to as many Totem Shrines as you can. Sure, it’s a fun little minigame for you to play, but it also acts as a gateway to a challenging area.

Upon completing the shrine’s trials and tribulations, you get to take a bite out of the rare Soul fruits that are only found inside deep inside the shrines.

Soul fruits can grant you a permanent boost. They will upgrade your soul meter and thus grant you the ability to maintain a soul-jump for far longer than usual.

3 Lounge About At Nearby Campfires

Tchia Resting At A Campfire

Notice an empty spot for you near the fire? Why not take that moment to sit down and reflect? Surprisingly enough, you’re able to do quite a fair number of activities while at any campfire you encounter during your journey.

You can play the ukelele while you’re lounging, change and customize your current outfit, sleep if you feel tuckered out, or eat if your character needs some grub for their next quest. You’ll find these campfires all around you, they dot the landscape.

2 Soul-Jump Into A Bird To Travel

Tchia Flying As A Bird

As fun as prancing around as a deer or wolf can be, nothing beats soaring through the sky and experiencing the beautiful world of Tchia. Sure, you can glide about and experience it as a human in-universe would, but why skip out on an easier way to travel than that?

Soul-jump into any bird you spot nearby, and go anywhere a lot faster than any other means of transportation or travel. This game lets you soar through the sky and is very lenient when it comes to gliding back down to land if your soul meter runs out.

1 You Can’t Drive Or Soul-Jump A Vespa

Tchia Trying To Soul-Jump A Scooter

As bizarre as this may sound, you can turn into almost anything in this game. Do you want to be a coconut? You can. Do you want to soul-jump into a dragonfly or a dugong? It’s easy, just point your camera at it.

However, somehow you can’t turn into a Vespa no matter how hard you try, it makes no sense.

As liberating as it is to be able to fly in any bird’s body or jump long distances as a deer, it’s just not as fun as potentially being able to drive a scooter. You can’t even interact with it! It’ll just tumble over.
