Team Liquid, a multi-regional professional esports organization based in the Netherlands, has extended its merchandising collaboration with Marvel Entertainment through 2022. Since launching its partnership in 2019, Team Liquid and Marvel have released several superhero lines inspired by Captain America, Spider-Man, and Black Widow, which are worn by team players during competitions.
Founded in 2000 by Victor "Nazgul" Goossens, Team Liquid has grown dramatically in the past two decades. In 2017, the organization’s European Dota 2 team won The International, which included one of the largest prize pools for any esports tournament in history. In addition, their League of Legends team has won four LCS titles, and their CS:GO team won the Intel Grand Slam prize in 2019 in just four tournaments.
This past September, the esports organization inaugurated its Europe-based training facility, partnering with companies such as Zoomph, Huya, and Secretlab. In addition, Team Liquid has also become an official tournament organization partner of Riot Games, hosting a Teamfight Tactics championship. Liquid also boasts the highest overall esports team winnings at $35,475,998.03, which it has earned in 1,829 global tournaments.
The extension of the organization's partnership with Marvel coincides with the launch of the new Marvel Retro Collection, which features tees, hoodies, shorts and sweats inspired by X-Men and The Avengers. One of the highlights is the Hulk tie-dye hoodie, which displays a retro pixel art Hulk logo.
