The Nioh 2 open beta is over, and now Team Ninja knows what they must do to improve the game before release day next March.

Nioh 2's open beta recently concluded with a game-wide survey that asked players how they did on a simple scale. They could rate each aspect of the game positively, negatively, or "average", which we suppose means "no opinion" or "it's fine."

Overall, players gave Nioh 2 an 83% positive score, while only 6% of players thought that the game was negative. Graphics were praised with 73% providing a positive response and only 6% responding negatively (perhaps those were the same 6% as before). Music and sound were given a 76% positive response but only a 3% negative response.

The lowest aspects of the survey were the tutorial and UI design, which only received a 66% positive response.

The survey provided Team Ninja with a laundry list of improvements and fixes to make before the game's release next March. Game balance takes priority, with adjustments needed for nearly all aspects of the game. Yokai abilities, enemy strength and lift totals, Ki Pulse Bonuses, and weapon Active Skills are all targeted for adjustments. Boss fights are also noted as requiring tweaks after a player managed to defeat every boss with level 1 starting gear.

Penalties and rewards will also need to be adjusted in the Dark Realm, while refinements to level design will improve the overall experience.

Two final notes: the tutorial is slated for some love after a significant amount of players found it to be insufficient for newcomers to the series. Also, the camera behavior will need to be tweaked in narrow areas or when the player uses the lock-on function.

There's also the usual list of bug fixes, which Team Ninja doesn't bother to describe in detail on their update but we can assume it's a long list. You can check out the full list of planned improvements on the Team Ninja website.
