Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is adding April O'Neil to the roster and will be releasing in 2022.

Earlier in the week, Geoff Keighley promised an "announcement and world premiere new look" for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge at Opening Night Live. As it turns out, the announcement was that April will be a playable character in the game, something that was teased when the game was announced.

Although the announcement of April is arguably the most exciting thing for fans here, we also got to see the first look at actual gameplay for Shredder's Revenge. Previous showcases have only shown brief snippets of footage and focused more on the game's introduction, but we got to see a lot more here including team attacks and the use of pizza to revive other characters.

The description for the April O'Neil trailer says, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will feature April O’Neil, star reporter and beloved ally to the heroes in a half shell, as a playable fighter when the game launches on Nintendo Switch and PC in 2022."

It was previously thought that Shredder's Revenge would be releasing in 2021, but it looks like it has seen a small delay into next year. The description used for the trailer also doesn't specify other consoles beyond the Nintendo Switch and PC, which means that we're still waiting on an announcement for the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game.
