When game franchises choose to do a crossover, there's nothing but excitement as you anticipate your favourite characters from differeing universes colliding and interacting. But no one does crossovers better than fighting games, with powerhouses like Tekken getting in on the franchise-intermixing action. This culminated in the launch of Street Fighter X Tekken in 2012, with both universes battling over a mysterious object that gives its user a power-up.

From famous franchises like The Walking Dead to Final Fantasy, Tekken has since added crossover (or guest) characters to its already extensive roster of skilled fighters. These crossover characters are certainly not to be underestimated.

5 Negan Smith

The Walking Dead's Negan knocks out Paul with a barb-wired baseball bat on a rooftop in Tekken 7.

One of the most iconic characters from the TV show The Walking Dead, Negan and his cherished bat Lucille traversed realms to make his mark on the Tekken universe in 2015's Tekken 7. The leader of The Saviours was introduced to the Tekken world with the intention of making a bloody example of key Tekken characters (like Kazuya) responsible for killing his men. But they escaped, causing Negan to go on a little hunting trip to bring them back.

As in the show, Negan is a brawler through and through, defeating his opponents through sheer power and monstrous strength. Whether he's walloping you with his beloved Lucille or pummelling you to the ground with his fist, his attacks deal significant damage. It helps that he practically towers over nearly all the fighters in Tekken.

4 Noctis Lucis Caelum

Tekken 7 Noctis defeating Alisa

Final Fantasy 15's Noctis makes his way to the Tekken universe to help Lars Alexandersson on a mission to stake out a Jungle Outpost and remove any undesirables residing there. Noctis and Lars are sort of friends, having an amicable partnership and even going on a humorous fishing trip disguised as a mission.

Armed with his trusty Engine Blade, Noctis retains most of his signature moves from Final Fantasy 15, keeping his blizzara spells as part of his moveset. Noctis can even continue an attack combo in the air unlike most other Tekken characters, but his long-range attacks are what makes him deadly. His ability to summon different kinds of weapons as part of his Rage Art makes him a dangerous and formidable opponent, indeed.

3 Akuma

Tekken 7 Akuma fights Heihachi

Street Fighter's prevailing antagonist Akuma makes his crossover debut in Tekken 7. It seemed as if he'd just been through a difficult battle, since Kazumi Mishima found him all battered and bloody before healing him. Kazumi made Akuma swear a vow, promising her that he will kill Heihachi and Kazuya as repayment. Although a brutal character, this vow shows a side to Akuma that emphasises his honour in keeping his word.

Akuma prizes strength above all else and this clearly shows in his fights with other Tekken characters. Serving as one of the alternate bosses of Tekken 7, his sweeping moves and devastatingly deadly projectiles gives even Heihachi Mishima a run for his money. Akuma's epilogue battle with the OP Devil Kazuya shows that he can easily keep up with one of the most powerful characters in Tekken. He's certainly not one to back out from a fight.

2 Geese Howard

Tekken 7 Geese Howard throwing a move

Yet another antagonist from another series has decided to come teach a thing or two to Tekken fighters. Geese Howard from SNK's Fatal Fury blends well with the Mishima family, since his need for power and domination over others is his key attribute. Kazuya and Jin's Devil Gene proved an enticing prize for Geese, who decides to enrol in the seventh King of Iron Fist Tournament in order to defeat them and use Devil's powers as his own.

Tekken 7 added a Rage Art feature and gifted each character with their own unique form of Rage Art. But for Geese, he does not only have one, but two Rage Arts he can use against his opponents. Like Jun and Asuka Kazama, Geese has the ability to counter any attack thrown at him, dealing massive damage along the way. He uses his chi to slice through enemies, as well as add lightning to his attacks.

The Mishimas better watch their backs around Geese Howard.

1 Gon

Tekken 3 Gon as a playable character

Gon's arrival into the Tekken universe in Tekken 3 is not out of place when you consider the franchise's penchant for weirdly designed characters like Mokujin. Instead of a game franchise, Gon is actually from a popular manga series in Japan of the same name. Unlike the other characters in this list, Gon isn't given a detailed backstory or motive as to why he showed up in the Tekken world. Maybe he's just there for the hell of it.

Despite his small size, Gon can really pack a punch. Although his tiny arms forces you to get closer to your opponent, he makes up for it by rolling himself into a ball and sweeping his enemy off the ground. Gon can even use electricity to paralyse his enemies before going in for the kill. Though he is not known for his sheer strength, Gon is a fast and nimble little creature that doesn't intimidate easy.
