Telltale Games has revealed some brand-new footage from the highly anticipated The Wolf Among Us 2, featuring new Fables and insights into what the game's story is about. We also got a release window for the game, although it is quite vague. The Wolf Among Us 2 is expected to launch in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

From the very brief trailer we were given, Bigby Wolf looks to be in some sort of anger management counseling recounting the events of an arrest that went out of control, possibly the last time Bigby went full werewolf on everyone. After the trailer, some developers sat down with Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley and explained the story a bit more in-depth.

Six months after the events of the first game, Bigby has been suspended from his job as sheriff of Fabletown, with Snow White acting as deputy mayor. With Bigby now acting as more of vigilante, he clashes with Snow White who has put Bigby on a "time-out", and eventually ends up meeting a detective who gets him wrapped up in a mysterious case.

Keighley then asks what characters from the first game will be returning and if any new fables will be introduced in The Wolf Among Us 2. According to the devs, fan favorite characters like Bufkin will be making appearances in the sequel, while characters from properties like The Wizard of Oz will be given a dark, modern twist for the first time.

Those familiar with Telltale Games will know that the majority of their games are episodic, and The Wolf Among Us 2 is no exception. The trailer shown off today was during a moment from the first episode of the game, with the rest of the episodes expected to drop throughout 2023. It was also clarified by the developers that the game's story has already been planned out over all five episodes and that now it's just a case of developing and launching.
