Skybound Games has squashed a recent rumor saying a new installment in Telltale's The Walking Dead was in development.

Telltale's The Walking Dead began in 2012, and ran for four seasons across 19 chapters. Taking place in the comic book continuity of the zombie thriller, the story featured a number of different characters but always had one at the center: Clementine. In the first season, Clementine is a little girl cared for by a man named Lee Everett. Clementine learned survival from Everett and would go on to become the central character of the series. Clementine has gone down as one of the most popular characters in The Walking Dead universe.

Since the last chapter of The Final Frontier, some fans have probably wondered if there will be a Season 5. A supposed "leak" recently surfaced, stating there will be another installment tentatively titled, "A Fatal Frontier." To quell discussion on this rumor, Skybound Games has come out and said there are no current plans for a new installment.

Skybound assumed control of The Final Frontier after Telltale went under. The fact that season 4 was even able to finish was a victory for fans wanting to see how Clementine's journey comes to a close. Although disappointing there's nothing more in the works, players can at least rest easy knowing Telltale's The Walking Dead received a proper ending.

For those who have not yet played Telltale's The Walking Dead, the entire series (plus 400 Days and Michonne) has been collected in a definitive edition. It is certainly worth checking out for Walking Dead fans, and those who enjoy a story-driven experience with many decisions to make.
