The wait for some Fatal Fury action in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is almost over, as it has been revealed that Terry Bogard is being added to the game today as the next DLC character in the Fighters Pass.

The arrival of an SNK character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was initially spoiled by the early addition of a trademark on the official website for the series. The fans immediately guessed that Terry Bogard from the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters series was coming to the game, due to his main character status in both franchises. Terry was officially announced during the last Nintendo Direct for a November 2019 release.

Masahiro Sakurai held a presentation that outlined Terry's moves and special attributes, which concluded with the announcement that he will be arriving in the game later today. The people who purchased the Fighters Pass can download Terry as soon as he is available, while everyone else can purchase him for $5.99.

Terry is similar to Ryu and Ken in that his moves can be powered-up by performing command inputs like in a regular fighting game. Terry also has the ability to cancel out of the animations of regular moves by performing special attacks at the right time, which has the potential to be devastating in battle. Terry also has a special power-up that activates whenever his health reaches 100% or 1/3 of his health in a Stamina battle, where the word "Go" appears above his character portrait. Once the word Go appears, he can perform powerful special moves by inputting commands.

Terry also comes with a stage that features background cameos from twenty different SNK characters. The stage also has a unique gimmick where it has walls on either side that cannot be broken until they take enough damage, turning the battle into something that more closely resembles a bout in a regular fighting game. The people who purchase Terry will also be adding fifty new songs to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from throughout the SNK library.

Terry Bogard is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on November 6, 2019.
