Terry Crews would be the perfect co-star for Dave Bautista in a Gears of War movie.

Gears of War had a very particular aesthetic for its characters that could be best described as Hulk-esque. Everyone in the franchise, both male and female, had a muscular build that made comic book superheroes look like under-fed bean poles.

Consequently, the list of Hollywood movie stars who could stay in any potential Gears of War movie is very slim. However, there are at least two perfect standouts that immediately come to mind.

The first is Dave Bautista, the former wrestler-turned movie star thanks to his starring roles in The Guardians of the Galaxy movies and the recently released My Spy. Bautista has made it no secret he would love to play the role of Marcus Fenix, the main protagonist and player character for the first three Gears of War games. And he seems perfect for the role! Sadly, it seems like Universal Studios isn’t paying too close attention to Bautista’s pleas.

A July 22nd tweet from Bautista makes it pretty clear his agent hasn’t called with good news on the Gears of War front. That’s likely because the Gears of War film, which is currently in pre-production with Universal Studios, currently doesn’t require an actor for Marcus Fenix because he’s not even in it.

In an interview with IGN, The Coalition studio head Rod Fergusson revealed that the Gears of War film would be set in an alternate reality and won’t depend on the game’s story.

However, that hasn’t stopped fans from pushing for their favorite muscle men to put their digital feet forward to take part in the Gears of War movie. The latest being Brooklyn 99 co-star, Terry Crews.

Actor Stephen Ford suggested on Twitter last week that Crews would be perfect for the role of Augustus “Cole Train” Cole. Both Augustus and Crews were former football players (although the game was called “Thrashball” in Gears of War), and both have biceps the size of a normal man’s head.

Crews seemed on board with the idea, responding to the tweet, "I like this. I like this very much."

Hopefully, enough fans show their support that Universal scraps their current “alternate reality” script and hires Bautista and Crews to play the roles they were made for.
