The time has come for more Kandagawa Jet Girls news, because the world demands it. The game combines two of mankind's greatest pleasures in life - jet skis and anime girls - into one thrilling package that's sure to be Game of the Year 2020. The January release is still so far away, so eager fans will have to find some way to entertain themselves. Perhaps the new Pokémon, or whatever that Kojima thing is. Or they can just watch the game's official trailer over and over.

Kandagawa Jet Girls takes place in a near future version of Japan where a jet ski combat game is all the rage. Teams of two girls take to the waters to race and battle. The trailer serves as an introduction to the teams, and thus the game's selling point: the girls. Fan service anime games like this live and die by their cast of cuties, so it makes sense for Marvelous Entertainment to put them at the forefront of the marketing push.

In fact, the girls have already been exposed to the world (quite literally) via an anime that started back in October. The show sets up the world of Kandagawa Jet Girls as well as introduces viewers to the relationships between the girls. It won't show everything, however, as it was already announced that one pair of girls will be game-exclusive. Gamers will also be the only ones to see Asuka and Yumi from Senran Kagura hop on jet skis as DLC characters.

Those who watched the trailer and are already in love can go all-in on the game's massive limited edition. The humungous box will come with the game, of course, but also tons of exclusive art, a special anime Blu-ray, a soundtrack CD, and the Senran Kagura DLC included. Honestly, it's a lot of content and kind of justifies the cost of the thing. What else would savvy gamers spend their money on? An esports massager?

Kandagawa Jet Girls is the brainchild of Kenichiro Takaki, who created Senran Kagura. Just like in his original project, heavy emphasis will be placed on character customization, letting players dress the characters up however they desire. If that and jet ski racing, sound like a winning combination, be sure to put an order in before the game's January 16, 2020 release.
