The third faction for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been revealed and it seems that the Anarchs might be in control of the criminal underworld of Seattle, as many of the vampires in the city swear fealty to a mysterious figure known as The Baron.
In the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop game, one of the biggest factions is known as the Anarchs. The Anarchs is made up of individuals who reject the rule of elder vampires and live in a society based on freedom, though the boundaries of these liberties can differ from city to city. The leader of the Anarchs in any given city is known as a baron and the term is considered gender-neutral, with female vampires often choosing to keep the title instead of using baroness.
The latest update to the official website for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has listed the third faction, which is referred to as The Baron. The vampires of Seattle only know of The Baron through his reputation, as he usually acts through intermediaries. The Baron controls the seedy underbelly of Seattle and many of the most powerful players are indebted to him.
It's worth noting that the term "Anarch" is never used anywhere in the notes for The Baron' faction, so it's uncertain if he belongs to that sect or not. It's possible that The Baron's faction is just composed of criminals and has no relation to the Anarch Movement. The name of The Baron might simply be an accidental choice or was picked specifically to inspire fear from those in rival sects, such as the Camarilla.
There are still two more factions to be announced and the existing footage of the game has revealed that one of them is the Tremere, so it's possible that the Anarchs will be the final faction and will not be connected to The Baron and his criminal empire.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in March 2020.
