We all have that friend who doesn't play video games but has the unfortunate luck of getting stuck amidst a conversation about them. But then you try to explain what you're talking about and they either stare at you blankly or try to poke holes in video game logic. Zoe Kravitz had a similar experience during a recent promotional interview along with Robert Pattinson for The Batman. To make things even more confusing for Kravitz, it pertained to Final Fantasy 7. The two featured on an episode of a French program called Clique, and the topic somehow shifted to Final Fantasy 7's love-triangle. The interviewer and Pattinson seemed to be bonding over it, but like most people who haven't delved into Final Fantasy, Kravitz had no idea what the two were on about. Pattinson decided to explain the intricacies of the complicated relationship to her, but to no avail (thanks PC Gamer). "I was in love with Aeris and Tifa," admitted Pattinson, revealing that even Batman faced the same dilemma as most of us did. "Everybody wants to have both. It's the two sides, it's the two options of girls you can have." He later tried to explain the scenario to Kravitz. "It's the best," he said. "It's a love triangle where Aeris, or Aerith depending on what version of the game you have, it's sometimes mistranslated — she's like the really kind girl who, her superpower is to heal everyone and make the world a better place."
Kravitz wasn't impressed though, as she jokingly remarked "Poor women! We have to heal everyone, it's exhausting." She probably knows what she's talking about, considering she plays the love interest of a rich orphan who beats up bad guys while wearing a bat costume.
But Pattinson doubled down on how tough the choice was. "And then Tifa's like this sexy little thing, who's a thief and stuff, she wears the short skirt, and you're like, 'I can't decide!' And then Aeris dies! Then Aeris, right at her peak, gets killed. This is how every guy figures out what love is."
"Either the one that's gonna heal everything and the one in the short skirt?" replied Kravitz while everyone laughed. "These are the options? Oh my god! This is the problem with the world."
This isn't the first time Pattinson has confessed his love for Aerith. The actor previously admitted that he cried when she died.
