Sunday’s tend to be a bit quieter, but it does give us a chance to look back on the week. Today we learned that we’ve all been playing a whole lot of Halo, and more of us have been using Steam than usual. We also have new content coming to Fortnite, and a much-loved adventure and RTS game is set to get a Switch port.

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Is Coming To Switch Next Year

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is finally coming Switch, almost three years since its initial launch in Japan. The surprise announcement was made today, alongside a trailer that sets the release date as April 14, 2022. 13 Sentinels was a hit when it was released internationally last year, improving its otherwise slow sales from 2019. It also scooped up a bunch of award wins and nominations, so Switch players are in for a treat when it launches on the console next Spring.

Halo Infinite Is At The Top Of Xbox's Most Played And Free Games Charts

Balance is restored: Halo is once again at the top of Xbox’s most-played charts. Despite concern from fans when it was revealed last year, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has been a hit so far. There’s been some criticism here and there, but on the whole it looks like players are loving it, and reliving their 2000s glory days. And this is before we even have the single-player campaign to play through, so Halo’s return to form has likely only just begun.

Steam Had Its Highest Concurrent Players Ever Yesterday

It looks like we’ve all been doing a lot of gaming this week. Steam had its most concurrent players ever yesterday, with more than 27 million players online. CS:GO took the crown, surprising absolutely no one. What might be most surprising is New World being in fifth place, although this might be because of its Steam autumn sale discount. Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t manage to crack the top ten, but it is performing incredibly well in the sale, perhaps boosting the numbers.

The Game Awards Has A World Premiere That Is 2.5 Years In The Making

Speculation time - Geoff Keighley has dropped a hint for a big Game Awards reveal. He didn’t say much, other than that it has been two-and-a-half years in the making. He’d already said that there will be 10 new game premieres, but this is likely to be the most exciting of the bunch if we’re already getting teased about it. The only other detail we have to go on is that it’s faced delays due to COVID-19, but that doesn’t help narrow it down either.
