Torn between Kate, the woman with whom she’s always butting heads, and Kate, the intern she kissed earlier in the night, let us help you (and Jamie) make the right choice on who to save in the suffocation chambers.

If you’re a longtime fan of The Dark Pictures Anthology, then you’re no stranger to the idea that your decisions really do matter in their games.

Though we may miss some of the tinier details along the way, TheGamer is committed to bringing you the fullest coverage of The Devil in Me we can.

If Erin was killed in either the dark room from Blackout or by the mannequins in Silver Ash, this scene will be skipped in your playthrough as it requires Erin to be alive.

Erin And Kate Getting Trapped

Though both women will end up in the trap you’re up against in this scene, how Erin arrives will be different, depending on what happened to her in the Silver Ash scene.

If Erin did nothing

Erin is unconscious as the killer carries her to the suffocation trap.

If Erin hid in the cupboard

Erin climbs out of the cabinet, where the killer is waiting for her. He chases her down, corralling her into the suffocation trap and locking her inside.

The group hears Erin scream as they’re searching for her, and Kate takes off ahead of Jamie and Mark. When she sees Erin through a window, she runs into the room to try to talk to her, unaware it's the second chamber. The door closes behind her.

The Suffocation Chamber – Kill Kate Or Kill Erin

Jamie and Mark enter the room and make some observations about the machinery as the air is siphoned out of the suffocation chamber rooms. With both women losing air, Mark urges Jamie that they have to do something.

What happens in this chapter is dependent on the choice you make here as Jamie.

If Jamie chooses...

Then...

To kill Erin

Kate’s chamber door opens as Erin starts coughing up blood. If she heard the doctored tape in Silver Ash implying Charlie is in on the killings, she writes “It’s Charlie” on the window in her blood before Erin dies.

To kill Kate

Erin’s chamber door opens as Kate breathlessly tells Mark through the window that hers has a leak. He smashes the window, and Kate is freed. Both Kate and Erin live.

To do nothing

The game acts as if Jamie has chosen Erin, and Erin still dies the same as if she had.

Jamie’s relationship will increase with whichever woman she chose to save, while it decreases with the one she did not (even Erin if she died). Watch the cutscenes from here, which segue into the next scene.
