Console owners should prepare for a big adventure as The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos will be heading to the PS4, Xbox One, and Switch this summer.
Originally released on Steam back in September 2020, this turn-based tactical title has you play as six different heroes: the Ranger, the Elf, the Dwarf, the Barbarian, the Magician, the Ogre, and the Thief. Throughout the experience, you'll face over 100 creatures in an Xcom-like format with various abilities at your disposal, thanks to the game's skill trees.
What lies ahead is a script that's supposedly humorous and full of charm, according to the publisher; however, our review has less than kind words for the writing of the game. "I hated just about every person in Naheulbeuk, " wrote Jamie LaTour for TheGamer, "Every line of dialogue was groan-worthy at best, and cringey enough to make my insides twist into knots at worst." LaTour brought up that the ogre character has a dump at the dungeon entrance, going for the lowest brow of jokes possible. Thankfully, the solid tactical gameplay take on the Xcom formula did stand out to the reviewer at the time.
If that critique doesn't deter you, a physical release of The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos is planned for the PS4 and Switch versions of the game. The physical editions will come out on the exact same date as the digital copy. Sorry, Xbox owners.

Regardless of what we've said, the RPG is rated highly in the Steam community. The Amulet of Chaos currently has an 89% rating from over 3,000 reviews, so the tactical RPG must be drawing in some diehard fans. The game currently stands at a 72 MetaCritic score, which is respectable but is not setting the world on fire, so there's a big difference between the critical and public response to the game. It has also likely drawn the attention of Felicia Day fans as she voices the Wizardess in this adventure.
