Originally released for PC in 2018, The Inner Friend - from publisher/developer PLAYMIND - is bringing its unsettling nightmares to consoles.

The introspective psychological horror game will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox one on April 28, 2020.

The award-winning title has already seen success at conventions and indie gaming festivals, winning Best in Play at GDC Play 2019, Best Experimental Game at TGS 2018, and Best in Show at the Montreal Indie Games Festival 2017. Expanding its reach to a new console audience will likely only increase the interest and success of the game.

The game is highlighted by its immersive storytelling and platform-esque gameplay mechanics as players make their way through a nightmarish world in an attempt to rescue and reconnect with their inner child.

Those interested should act fast, as a 10% discount is being offered to all Xbox One pre-orders right now, while being extended to PlayStation 4 users (in North America) from April 28th through May 4th, with 20% off being offered to Playstation Plus members worldwide.

No word yet on whether or not The Inner Friend will make its way to the Nintendo Switch. That might be for the best though. The Inner Friend seems like a risky game to play in bed right before drifting off to dreamland….
