Two of the biggest PlayStation exclusives of 2020 have been delayed, as Sony has announced that Iron Man VR and The Last of Us Part II have been delayed indefinitely.

As the title suggests, Iron Man VR is an upcoming VR title that puts players in the metal shoes of Tony Stark, as he flies around and blasts enemies with his repulsor rays. The Last of Us Part II is the sequel to one of the most highly-acclaimed video games in modern history, and many fans are expecting it to be one of the last great games of the PlayStation 4's generation. Iron Man VR was originally meant to be released for PlayStation VR on May 15 and The Last of Us Part II was meant to be released for PlayStation 4 on May 29.

The official PlayStation Twitter account has announced that Iron Man VR and The Last of Us Part II have been delayed, with no new release dates being offered. The reason given for the delay is due to the current global crisis involving the coronavirus, which is preventing the games from being released in an acceptable state.

The official Naughty Dog Twitter account has uploaded a statement in regards to The Last of Us Part II being delayed. The statement clarifies that the delay is due to issues beyond the control of the developers, but that the game is close to completion.

The delay of Iron Man VR and The Last of Us Part II is a big loss for Sony and there are undoubtedly fans who are now concerned about Ghost of Tsushima, which is currently set to be released in June. The Cyberpunk 2077 fans might also want to start feeling worried if the self-isolation persists for a few more months.

There are some recent games that managed to avoid delays by virtue of being close to their planned release date, including Final Fantasy VII Remake and Resident Evil 3, but fans should expect to see delays with other games that are coming out in 2020. The only question now is which games will be delayed and when will their developers announce the delays?
