The Last of Us Part 1's limited Firefly Edition is being scalped for up to $500 on eBay.

Today marks the release day for The Last of Us Part 1 and, to celebrate, Naughty Dog issued one more limited run of the US-exclusive Firefly Editions on PlayStation Direct. Unfortunately, in a manner very similar to what happened with the initial run of God of War Ragnarok's Jotnar Edition, it seems that copies sold out almost immediately and are now being scalped on eBay for almost five times the asking price.

Heading over to eBay shows a ton of new listings for the Firefly Edition of The Last of Us Part 1, likely due to the restock that happened earlier today. Sadly, it seems that The Last of Us fans that are after this limited edition are going to have to take out a loan of some kind, as most of the copies are being sold for anywhere between $270 and $500.

TLOUFFE

Knowing what other collector's editions have been scalped for on eBay, there are likely listings that are even more than $500. Considering the Firefly Edition was retailing for $99.99 on PlayStation Direct, even the cheapest listings on eBay are still asking for triple the RRP.

It seems to be even worse than usual on this occasion considering the fact that PlayStation only restocked the Firefly Edition once and it was marketed as a more limited run than usual. The Last of Us notoriously has some of the rarest collector's editions in PlayStation history too, with pieces like the Joel and Ellie statue going for a hefty sum even a decade later.

If you're hoping to see more copies of the Firefly Edition pop up somewhere, it seems that you're out of luck, as it seems like this most recent restock will be the last one that Naughty Dog does. On a happier note, it also promised that it was looking into selling something for European players.
