After a long wait, The Last of Us Part 2 is getting a performance patch on PlayStation 5. The free update is now available and gives you the option to run Naughty Dog's latest masterpiece at 60fps.

Patch 1.08 is said to complement the other enhancements already present when running The Last of Us Part 2 on PS5 – such as increased resolution and faster load times. You'll also have the option to lock your frame rate at the current 30fps using a new "Framerate Target" selection in the Display menu.

Best of all? It sounds like this won't be the only TLOU2 update we see on PS5.

"The team has been digging into the PS5 hardware and the possibilities it unlocks since launch last year and we’re excited about what the future holds," Arne Meyer, Director of Communications at Naughty Dog, said. "This patch is just the first step of working on the PS5. We’ll let you know when we’ve got more news to share!"

A PlayStation 5 update was among the most requested features by The Last of Us community. There's no doubt TLOU2 looked incredible on PS4, and we're excited to see it in action on PS5 following patch 1.08.

The Last of Us Part 2 Patch 1.08 is now available on PlayStation 5, adding the option to play through the game at 60fps.
