Trails from Zero has finally made its way to Western audiences after a whopping 12 years, and fans of the overarching Trails franchise should be thrilled to check it out. The adventures of Crossbell's Special Support Section are integral to the ongoing Kiseki storyline, leaving folks familiar with Trails of Cold Steel desperate to see Lloyd and his friends firsthand for what felt like ages.

Unproven and sorely underestimated, the SSS is stuck with menial tasks early on. But completionists, especially those who wish to maximize their Detective Points, won't want to miss a single sidequest. Here they are, in all their minor glory.
Lost Item Search
You may be wondering why we aren't covering Geofront A1 Sector Monster Examination. That's because this one is required to advance the main story. You should still have some time to wrap the actual sidequests up afterward before they expire, but we recommend doing the first two beforehand to avoid any mishaps. (Michel's Test cannot be completed until after Monster Extermination and Quarrel Arbitration main quests.)
The first sidequest in the game, Lost Item Search tasks the Special Support Squad with running around town inquiring as to the whereabouts of a wallet, a souvenir, and finally, a train ticket. Simple enough, and it helps players familiarize themselves with Crossbell's sprawling city as they poke around various districts. Two birds, one stone, and all that.
The requests terminal will send you to a frantic fellow named Tront who is presently staying at the Hotel Millennium in the Entertainment District. Trost's explanation of events will be of some help, but to simplify your search, here's where you'll need to investigate.
First, speak with the receptionists at the Times Department Store. The location houses several shops, and you'll find it northeast of the giant bell in Central Square. One of the receptionists, Cynthia, will hand you the key item Man's Wallet.
Now, check out East Street, specifically the shop stalls. The fish merchant, Marte, will have a Souvenir. Here's where you'll find him.
Lastly, find the ramen stand at the Harbor District. The merchant here believes someone else at the Harbor District picked up something of importance. You'll need to speak with Cunha. She strolls around the area, so this is what she looks like:
With all three items found, return to Tront, who is still in his room at Hotel Millennium. That's a wrap!
Vacancy Verification
Next up is Vacancy Verification. After checking out the request, swing by City Hall in the Administrative District. It's the big building to the north; it's hard to miss.
Your first order of business is to chat with the receptionist, Shion, who submitted the request. Your goal is to check several residences to ensure people still live there, furthering the game's commitment to getting players familiar with Crossbell.
You can check the addresses in any order, so we'll go with how the Detective Notebook lays it all out. Go to the Residential District. The fastest route from the Administrative District is via the western exit. You'll pass through the Entertainment District followed by the Residential District. Luckily, the very first house is your destination. The mansion is long-abandoned.
Up next is East Street, which is located one screen east from Central Square. (Fittingly enough.) The building you're looking for has a big fish above the sign.
This is the Fisherman's Guild, where Lloyd will eventually report his catches to the owner. But that'll be unlocked later, so no worries for now. The party will make note that the government must update their filing.
Last but not least, stick around on East Street and enter the Lotus Heights apartment complex. On the second floor is a locked door. Seems nobody lives there.
With everything sorted, return to City Hall and let Shion know you're finished.
Michel's Test
Head to the Bracer's Guild on East Street. It's next door to the Fisherman's Guild.
The flirtatious Michel has a quiz for the rookie Special Support Squad. It's possible to flunk the quiz and still complete the sidequest, but you will earn bonus Detective Points, as well as an Action 1 orbment, for getting them correct.
Our pictures indicate the correct response to each question:
With all three resolved, you've finished the sidequests for Trails of Zero's prologue. Well done!
