Climbing very tall towers to be able to reveal huge parts of the map is nothing new to open world games - it simply makes sense. Getting to a very high point would allow you to take in your surroundings. This is no different in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which has you unlocking Skyview Towers.
Unlike in the previous game, you don't have to meticulously climb each tower. Instead, you might have to solve a puzzle or endure treacherous terrain just to reach it. Once activated, though, there's no climbing involved. In fact, they will launch Link straight into the air!
Lookout Landing Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: -0293, 0137, 0025
Lookout Landing will be the first Skyview Tower that you unlock, and you'll do so by following the tutorial quests that you receive after leaving the Great Sky Islands. If you need pointers in the right direction, check this guide here.
Hyrule Field Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: -0753, 01019, 0064
To get to this Skyview Tower, you'll need to infiltrate a Bokoblin encampment. This can be quite a big ask, as there are many enemies to consider, including armored Bokoblins, a Moblin, and a Hinox to contend with.
Take this task slowly and surely, fighting few enemies at a time, and only go in with enough food to recover from a few mistakes.
It's possible to cheese this entire sequence by acquiring the Bokoblin Mask. You'll get this by starting Kilton's quest, which is found just to the northeast of Woodland Stable in Eldin.
Give him a Bubbul Gem, and you'll get the mask. This will allow you to enter the encampment in complete safety and activate the tower with no combat.
Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: 1344, -1170, 0166
This is one of the Skyview Towers with a small puzzle attached to it. The gate to the tower is locked, and you cannot get in.
To enter the tower and unlock the door, you'll need to enter a cave beneath the tower. The easiest entrance to use is a little bit north of the tower, adjacent to a Splash Fruit tree. Head inside this cave.
This cave is filled with smashable rocks, and provides enough weapons and rocks to Fuse Rock Breakers to get through them. Your aim is to break through into a small room directly underneath the tower (rough coordinates: 1344, -1170, 0131) and use Ascend to get up inside.
Once inside, remove the sticks that are holding the doors in place.
You'll know that you're in the right room if there is a large rock flanked by two small rocks at one end - behind this big rock is another room with a Bubbulfrog and lots of mineable ore.
Lindor's Brow Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: -1901, 1243, 0297
Getting to this tower requires that you cross some water and climb a cliff, which can be problematic if you haven't upgraded your stamina much.
A good way to cut out much of the busywork is to build a campfire (by lighting some Wood up with a Fire Fruit arrow or by striking some Flint next to it) and then throw a Hylian Pine Cone on top of it to create a huge updraft. You can use this updraft to glide over to the tower.
Upland Zorana Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: 2858, 0582, 0379
Reaching this tower is quite simple, but actually getting inside is another question. The door (and a nearby Zora) is covered in sludge. To remove this sludge, you'll need to use water - two ways to do this are by using Chuchu Jelly or Splash Fruit.
Conveniently, there are some Splash Fruit trees nearby. Just attach one to an arrow (or throw one) at the sludge, and you'll be right as rain. Free the Zora and talk to him afterwards, and you'll be rewarded with a Zora Spear.
Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: 1637, 1183, 0225
Eldin Canyon is one of the more puzzling towers to unlock. Talking to the nearby NPC will reveal that the cap on the top of the tower was knocked off by some falling ruins, giving you a hint as to the solution.
Look to the left of the Skyview Tower and over the cliff - you should see a patch of ruins, which are a different color rock to the surrounding mountain. There should be a block of recently-fallen ruin on top. If not, just wait a little while; they fall constantly in this area.
Glide down to the ruins and climb on top of one of the smaller ruin blocks. Use Recall on it, and you'll be able to ride it high into the air. Wait until you're up higher than the Skyview Tower and then glide to it, heading down into the tower through the opening at the top.
Once at the bottom of the tower, you'll be able to activate it as usual.
Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: 3493, 2019, 0188
When you reach this tower, you should be able to see what the issue is pretty easily. There is an Aerocuda (a flying monster) circling the tower with a device in its clutches.
Shoot the Aerocuda down and bring the terminal that it was holding to the entrance of the tower. Talk to the NPC there to get the tower fixed.
If you lose sight of the terminal after shooting the Aerocuda down, use Ultrahand - the terminal will glow as all interactable objects do.
Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: 0343, 3133, 0180
You'll find this tower in an enclosed area with some campers. The issue here is that the top of the Skyview Tower is blocked by a floating platform, and it's up to you to get rid of the blockage.
There are a few floating platforms around, along with some Zonai devices. Some of the higher platforms also have Constructs on them ready to shoot you down, but you don't have to worry about these too much.
An easy solution to this puzzle (that only requires that you have a Fan in your inventory) is to attach two of the nearby Zonai Rockets to the sides of one of the platforms - make sure they're symmetrical - and then activate them while you're on top. You'll shoot up into the sky.
Once you're higher than the platform blocking the tower, glide down to it. Take out your Fan and attach it to the top. Activate the Fan, and it should blow the platform out of the way, letting you get inside and activate the tower.
Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: -2313, 3065, 0443
The only real challenge in getting to this tower is actually getting there. This Skyview Tower is surrounded by an extremely cold environment, so you'll need two layers of Cold Resistance to survive. To accomplish this, you'll need one of the two solutions listed below:
- Two pieces of Cold Resistance armor. There is one piece on the Great Sky Islands inside the tree trunk next to the shrine you acquired Ascend in, and there are three pieces for sale in Rito Village.
- One piece of Cold Resistance armor and some Cold Resistance food.
No matter how you get there, you'll be pleased to know you don't have to solve any puzzles or do any extra steps, you can just activate the tower.
Rospro Pass Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: -3686, 2342, 0233
This is another easy tower to reach and activate. As long as you have a level of Cold Resistance (see above), you'll be able to reach the tower safely.
There are lots of thorns surrounding this tower. To get past them, simply set them on fire - they'll burn for a little while before disappearing.
Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: -3959, -1313, 0422
The entrance to this Skyview Tower is underground, buried beneath some snow. To get inside and activate it, you'll need to use the hints provided in the diary next to the tower and enter the nearby cave - Meadela's Mantle Cave. This is located very slightly to the northwest of the Skyview Tower.
Head down into the cave until you reach an underground river. Jump into the water and follow the river down a waterfall. Here, you should have a patch of dry land to your right - get out of the water here and look for a small hole in the wall.
Crouch and enter this hole - it is marked by a Brightcap. On the other side, you'll be at the bottom of another waterfall. Head through the waterfall to find some wooden scaffolding - there is a short wooden stake in the middle of this scaffolding, directly underneath a wooden platform on the ceiling.
Swim to and then climb onto the stake, and use Ascend to rise through the wooden ceiling. You'll be inside the Skyview Tower.
Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: -2431, -2178, 0307
This Skyview Tower is broken down and needs repairing, but the repairman is stuck at the bottom of the nearby life. To bring him up to your level, you'll need to use Ultrahand to attach enough weight to the chain on the right to outweigh the repairman.
There are metal blocks close by - two or three of these will do the trick. Attach them to the end of the chain, and you'll bring the repairman up.
Popla Foothills Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: 0602, -2119, 0098
This is another tower where you have to rescue someone who can repair it for you. If you dive down the nearby well and destroy the fragile rock wall you'll find inside, you'll find the person you need to free.
To free him, you'll simply need to enter the Popla Hills Excavation Site from its southern entrance. Climb down the cliff to the south of the tower and enter the cave. Here, stand on the large stone platform near the barred hallway to free the repairman. He'll give you some rupees as a reward.
Now just head back up the cliff - using Ascend will make the job far quicker.
Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: 2419, -2763, 0222
True to its name, the Wetlands are very wet. It will be raining constantly, which is a problem, as you have to burn through some thorns before you can access the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower.
Trying to burn the thorns in this state will be fruitless. First, you must use the building materials helpfully nearby to create a makeshift roof. Three of the very largest wooden platforms Attached to each other, end to end, will be long enough to provide adequate coverage.
Place your roof above the thorns in front of the tower's door and then set the thorns on fire using a Fire Fruit arrow or a piece of Flint. The thorns will burn away, and you can access the tower.
Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower
- Coordinates: 3846, -1307, 0539
As with Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower, the main challenge with Mount Lanayru is simply reaching the tower while dealing with the extreme cold. See the Pikida Stonegrove section above for methods for achieving level two Cold Resistance.
