Some rare items are multifunctional, serving as both a valuable item to sell, and a powerful fusion material, for example. However, value isn't necessarily determined by rarity, as some of these materials can be found in infinite numbers, but can be used up just as easily.

Whether you're on a scavenger hunt or just need to focus on duplicating certain items, these materials are essential to have.

10 Like Like Stones

Link holds a Like Like Stone in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Like Like Stone is an incredible item that can be used for multiple purposes but excels as a crafting ingredient. If you're in a serious bind, you can also use these as fusion items for hammer-class weapons, but that certainly won't make the best use of their unique capabilities.

Aside from their combat-oriented functions, Like Like Stones call also be used in dyes. Make sure you head over to Hateno Dye Shop to change the color pattern on your paraglider after you get a new dye. Experiment with Like Like Stones and see what you discover.

9 Zonai Charges

Zonai Charges are a perfect example of an item you'll use just as quickly as you find them, so stock up. Zonai charges can be dumped into Zonai Device Dispensers to yield a proportional quantity of new devices.

Alternatively, Zonai Charges can be used to replenish your energy cell charge (the battery meter) when you are using Zonai Devices. Lastly, and least interestingly, you can simply slap one of these to the end of an arrow to get a damage boost, but you should really avoid wasting these charges in combat.

8 Star Fragments

Link holds a Star Fragment in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

These exceptionally rare items drop from falling stars that you'll occasionally spot in the Hyrulian Sky. You can spot them by searching for their long wispy tails that indicate their position as they fall. Once you nab one, rejoice, but prepare to go hunting for a bunch more.

Star Fragments can be stuck to the end of weapons, like Magic Rods, to create a light effect that illuminates the surrounding area. They can be exchanged with Great Fairies to upgrade armor, or even be sold if you desperately need Rupees. Selling them is highly discouraged, though, so stick to using these rare items on your armor and weapons.

7 Lynel Parts

Link holds a Lynel Part in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Lynel Parts will prove to be immensely valuable as you progress through the game and require more powerful weapons to deal with your foes. White-Maned Lynel Parts in particular offer an exceptional damage boost that will easily take any base weapon from zero to hero.

If you're aiming to craft the most powerful weapons on Tears of the Kingdom, then these are simply a necessity. You can also use these as monster parts in elixirs, but their primary purpose is to augment the power of your weapons, and they do an exceptional job in that respect.

6 Sundelions

Link holds a Sundelion in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Sundelions are an incredibly important ingredient you'll want to conserve whenever possible. These handy little flowers are key ingredients in meals that restore your Gloom-depleted hearts. The two other methods for restoring these hearts are to return to the surface or rest at a Lightroot.

Instead of derailing your entire Depths adventure, simply make a handful of meals that restore your hearts, then add Sundelions to them to add the Gloom restoration effect. While useless in other respects, the Sundelion's niche use is both key to your survival and an essential part of any expedition into the unknown. The flexibility to continue uncovering new areas is invaluable when exploring the Depths.

5 Dragon Parts

Dragon parts, including Scales and Shards, are exceptionally rare materials that you'll find by jumping on top of dragons as they fly through the skies of Hyrule. Keep in mind that some dragons can fly into the Depths, so check around the chasms to make sure you've covered your bases.

These parts have several uses and even produce unique weapon combinations when fused to certain base items. They can also be added to elixirs to elongate the duration of the elixir's effect. Finding these parts will take time, so don't rush to use your stash before you've thought about what you need most from them.

4 Bomb Flowers

Link holds a Bomb Flower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Bomb Flowers are perhaps the most versatile fusion item for a variety of situations, particularly during puzzles and in the Depths. Bomb Flowers are numerous, but so are the hidden passages blocked by boulders across Hyrule. These bombs are perfect for clearing paths in caves and during several dungeon and mini-dungeon puzzles.

Aside from clearing a path, Bomb Flowers are excellent counters for The Gloom, as the hands are weak to fire and will be momentarily stunned by Bomb Flowers. The explosion does an exceptional amount of damage as well, so it should only take a few well-placed flowers to take down a group of Gloom.

3 Zonaite

Link holds a Zonaite in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Zonaite is a crucial exchange material useful in acquiring Zonai-related items and upgrades, including Zonai Charges and Energy Wells. Energy Wells will permanently increase the amount of battery charge your Zonai Devices are capable of using.

Saving Zonaite to buy Energy Wells is far more prudent than spending them on Zonai Charges, as those can be found quite easily after defeating Constructs. Zonaite can also be used as a fusion material in a pinch, but its primary usage is easily the most important. Zonaite can most often be mined in caves from dark, sparkling ore deposits.

2 Big Hearty Radishes

Link holds a Big Hearty Radish in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Big Hearty Radishes are an essential cooking ingredient that can be added to a variety of dishes. When added to a recipe, Big Hearty Radishes will completely restore your hearts and temporarily increase the maximum amount of hearts you have.

Even as a strict ingredient-only material, these radishes are impossible to put a value on.

Similar ingredients like Truffles offer similar effects to Big Heart Radishes, but this root vegetable is simply better than the rest, allowing you to regain an extra heart if you simply must consume one without cooking it to survive.

1 Diamonds

When it comes to versatility among materials, there is simply no outdoing the variety of uses for Diamonds. First and foremost, Diamonds are exceedingly valuable, and their 500 Rupee price is hard to pass up if you're cash-strapped.

Secondly, you can use Diamonds as a fusion material for your weapons. Diamonds form a sword-like blade at the end of any base weapon that will swing quickly. The large 25-point damage bump is exceptional on many hilts.

Finally, you can also use Diamonds to acquire the champions' weapons in each respective region. For example, Teba will require three Diamonds, a Swallow Bow, and five bundles of wood to acquire his powerful weapon. If you're swimming in Diamonds, enjoy attaching them to your arrows on your new bow.
