14 Captain Reaper

A sword is an excellent choice when paired with a strong fusion item like a Captain Construct Horn, or something similar. There are many Tears Of The Kingdom weapons to use, and this is your classic workhorse weapon that will swing pretty quickly, depending on how heavy your fusion choice is.

With a solid damage output, quick swings, and overall flexibility, the Captain Reaper will serve you well. Whether you're mowing down hordes of Bokoblins or simply mowing the grass in search of critters, this Reaper is one of the best weapons TOTK can provide for general use.

13 Spiked Iron Ball Hammer

Link using recall on a spiked iron ball in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

The Spiked Iron Ball Hammer is one of the most durable weapons TOTK has to offer with rock-crushing capabilities to boot. Whether you need to clear some rocks during an enthralling side adventure or need to take a boss out, the Spiked Iron Ball Hammer can handle anything thrown at it.

The slow swing speed is extremely punishing, so be sure to save this valuable burst damage option for stunned enemies. Charging your swings while an enemy is immobile will yield the best results for this one, so be patient and line up your swings for the biggest bang.

12 Steel Lizal Bow

The Steel Lizal Bow in the weapon selection list in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

Bows are undeniably one of the best options for foes that require you to stun them before they become vulnerable. Often, enemies that require stuns, like Gleeoks, have small targets that are normally difficult or impossible for Link to reach with his sword, and that's where a powerful bow comes in.

The Steel Lizal Bow boasts 36 base damage and can be infused with additional effects when repaired by a Rock Octorok. The arrow fusions you use will also affect your damage output, but regardless of what you're firing, this bow should prove an invaluable tool on your adventure.

11 Captain Spear

The Captain 3 Spear in the weapon selection list in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

Spears are one of the best items to use as a base for fusing, especially if you're a fan of dealing damage safely. Spears as a whole offer superior range and attack speed compared to other weapons, and make excellent use of their many fusion possibilities.

The Captain Spear is an excellent early to mid-game option if you're running short on rare parts for fusion. Captain Horns are an excellent choice to slightly elongate the poke range while adding valuable damage on top of its range-increasing function, so don't underestimate the power of a strong spear.

10 Flux Core Smasher

The Flux 3 Core Smasher in the weapon selection list in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

Flux Cores are an excellent fusion item for Zonai equipment, boasting incredibly high damage values and the ability to bust rocks when not in combat. The dual utility makes this weapon especially valuable, especially considering the high amount of swings it typically has before breaking.

It's recommended to use the most durable weapons in Tears Of The Kingdom to get efficient mileage out of the Flux Core.

Luckily its swings are much quicker than you might anticipate a hammer to have. Many smaller enemies should also be staggered by this weapon, if not defeated in one shot.

9 Gloom Sword

Link wields the Gloom Sword in the menu in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Gloom Sword offers you a chance at revenge for all those times that your hearts were sapped away by the pesky effects of Gloom. However, you won't be immune from Gloom while wielding this sword as it also afflicts its user with the Gloom Toll effect.

To avoid this, simply buy the Gloom-resistant armor from a Bargainer statue. Once you're set up to use it, make haste to fuse it and take advantage of that fantastic 41 base attack value.

If it weren't for the Gloom drawbacks, this collection of arms would easily be the best weapons in Tears Of The Kingdom.

8 Gloom Club

Link holds the Gloom Club in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Much like the Gloom Sword, this club offers immense power at the cost of the Gloom Toll effect. If you're traveling across the land searching for Gloom weapons, you'll find several at Hyrule Castle after you encounter and defeat Phantom Ganon.

Despite its slower swing speed, the range and sheer power that the Gloom Club provides make it deserving of being called one of the best weapons in TOTK. Its 50-base damage can be doubled with the right fusion materials, though you'll need to ensure you have time to wind up for a massive swing to inflict it.

7 Royal Guard's Bow

The Royal Guard's Bow in the weapon selection list in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

The Royal Guard's Bow represents one of the best weapons in Tears of the Kingdom's vast Hyrulian world. With a 50 in its base attack stat, this bow rivals many melee weapons in damage while also providing unrivaled range and a superior rate of fire.

Overall, this bow fires quickly and hits hard but has very low durability, so pick its uses wisely. Unfortunately, it will take some time to acquire, as the best place to grab one that's guaranteed is in Princess Zelda's Study, so keep an eye out for that room when you're in Hyrule Castle.

6 Royal Guard's Claymore

The Royal Guard's Claymore is one of TOTK's best weapons, capable of creating some deadly fusion combinations. Its 32-base attack stat is a wonderful starting point, though the real selling point is the sword's special effect, and once it is close to breaking, it will deal massive amounts of damage.

If you can keep this weapon on the brink of breaking, without destroying it then you should have quite a powerhouse on your hands. Take care to choose powerful fusion items to capitalize on the extra damage you get from the base weapon being close to breaking.

5 Gloom Spear

Link has his Hearts drained by the Gloom in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

The Gloom Spear is arguably the strongest weapon in Tears Of The Kingdom, at least if you're a spear fan. Spears are an excellent weapon type in general and with a 40 base damage stat, this one offers unusually high damage for a poke weapon.

As long as you manage your Gloom Toll, this spear allows you to deal damage incredibly quickly. Its overall damage per second (DPS) easily competes with the best weapons Tears Of The Kingdom has, especially with a strong fusion material. Choose your strongest fusion and watch this weapon melt bosses faster than Gloom will ever melt your heart supply.

4 Scimitar of the Seven

Link receives the Scimitar Of The Seven in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Scimitar of the Seven is one-half of the legendary duo along with the shield Daybreaker. While the shield is not required, Scimitar of the Seven offers an incredible secondary effect that makes it one of the best weapons TOTK lovers could wish for.

Any fusion material applied will have its damage doubled by the effect of Scimitar of the Seven, allowing it to do incredibly high DPS (damage per swing). Unsurprisingly, this works best with materials like Lynel Saber Horns and other top-tier fusion materials.

3 Lightscale Trident

Link receives the Lightscale Trident in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

While the Scimitar of the Seven boasts excellent damage per swing, the Lightscale Trident offers DPS of another kind, via its high Damage Per Second (or damage per stab – it all works). As a spear, this trident has a massive advantage over slower, shorter weapons.

The Lightscale Trident boasts incredible reach, quick attack speed, and wonderful damage capabilities, making it a clear choice against bosses who need a few pokes to go down. It's absolutely one of the best weapons in TOTK and will be a major part of your arsenal.

If you can keep Link drenched with liquids to activate the Trident's secondary effect that doubles its total damage, then there might not be a better weapon in the entire game for general usage and flexibility.

2 White-Maned Lynel Blade

Link holds a White-Maned Lynel weapon in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The White-Maned Lynel Blade stands alongside other Lynel-fused weapons as some of the best weapons TOTK has to offer. You'll need a White-Maned Lynel Saber Horn part from a Lynel of the same name to use as a fusion material, and the 44 attack this part adds to your weapon is staggering.

When combining a Lynel Saber Horn with something like the Royal Guard's Claymore, you can expect a hard-hitting weapon that will hammer enemies into the ground. Adding the additional power before breaking will make this weapon hit harder against Lynels than almost everything else in the game, so get your hands on one ASAP.

1 The Master Sword

Link holds the Master Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Master Sword is the only renewable weapon in the game, as it does not break once worn down like other weapons. It's a bit ironic that the Master Sword is unbreakable when the first time we see it in Tears of the Kingdom, it's broken.

That aside, once you find all the geoglyphs and pass a stamina test, (like the heart test on the door at the beginning) the sword is yours.

You can fuse items you'd like to the Master Sword to imbue it with elemental properties or excessive amounts of damage from certain items, like Lynel parts. Even if you only use it as an infinite stone hammer, the Master Sword presents the highest value for your time and is an iconic weapon that feels powerful to wield, even if its base damage is only around 20.
