The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is home to some of the most creative and mind-breaking Shrines that will have you banging your head against the walls for what seems like forever as you attempt everything you possibly can to try to solve them. However, several other Shrines will test your worth by other means, throwing you for a loop.

Case in point, the Simosiwak Shrine looks to test your resolve by tossing you into a pitch-dark room, having you seek out and destroy Training Constructs to complete it and receive your rewards. Fortunately, some tricks will help make this much less stressful.

Where To Find The Simosiwak Shrine

Unlike the vast majority of other Shrines in Tears of the Kingdom, the Simosiwak Shrine can only be accessed after you complete a challenge located on Bravery Island, a Sky Island found near North Hyrule Sky Archipelago.

Bravery Island Location

As covered above, Bravery Island is found near North Hyrule Sky Archipelago. It is the Sky Island that rests at the bottom of the spiraling rock structure that will surely catch your eye the first time you launch yourself out of the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower.

You can reach Bravery Island several ways, as you can cast Recall on a piece of debris that falls from the sky to the ground below and ride it back up.

Or, you can use the catapult near the Mayamat Shrine (Rauru's Blessing) on the nearby Sky Island to launch yourself toward it and Glide the rest of the way down to Bravery Island. Whichever way you decide to reach the Island is up to you, but we prefer this method!

Bravery Island: Steward Construct

Once you touchdown on Bravery Island, look for the Steward Construct near the dilapidated stone structure and speak to it to learn of a Ring Challenge. The first Challenge is untimed but will still prove difficult, so be prepared!

Bravery Island: Ring Challenge

After accepting the Ring Challenge, you will be warped to the top of the spiraling rock structure and will have to jump off it and through a Ring to begin the Challenge. As you descend, you must pass through a series of Rings and land in the pool of water below.

Missing just one of these Rings will warp you back to the Steward Construct, allowing you to partake in the Challenge again if you so wish.

One tip we have for this Challenge is the Rings will alternate rotating clockwise and counterclockwise, so make your adjustments for the next one the moment you pass through one, allowing you to get a head start on your positioning to make things much more manageable.

If you manage to pass through every Ring on your way back down to Bravery Island, you will be rewarded with the construction of a new Shrine. This Shrine is the aforementioned Simosiwak Shrine! - The Shrine will be made on Bravery Island, so don't leap off of it or go anywhere else!

Simosiwak Shrine (Proving Grounds: Lights Out) Walkthrough

With the Simosiwak Shrine constructed, you can either head inside or attempt a timed version of the Ring Challenge to earn extra goodies. The Shrine itself is less of a puzzle and more of a Challenge, having you take on Constructs while in the pitch-darkness of the Shrine.

There are a total of three Constructs within the Shrine, all at varying difficulties to take on, especially with no clothes or equipment. Luckily, there is a way to best all of them, which we have outlined below!

Simosiwak Shrine: Lighting The Way

Before entering the Simosiwak Shrine, we recommend consuming a Food Item that grants you the Glow Effect, allowing Link to shine bright even in the darkness of the Shrine. If you don't have the means to do this, it's okay. You will be at a slight disadvantage, but nothing major!

Simosiwak Shrine: Rules

The Rules of the Simosiwak Shrine stating that you cannot use outside items while inside of the Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Upon entering the Shrine, you will be met with a message explaining you will have all your equipment stripped away from you while inside the Shrine, meaning you cannot bring in any outside Items or Weapons.

Don't panic, however, your belongings will return to you if you exit the Shrine or complete it, so don't stress over losing your things forever. It's only for as long as you're in the Shrine.

Additionally, any buffs you have applied to yourself will remain intact even upon entering the Shrine. This means if you ate a Food Item with the Glow Effect we encouraged you to do earlier, it would stay active even after it takes everything away from you!

Simosiwak Shrine: First Training Construct

When you first enter the Simosiwak Shrine, you will find two Light Shields and a Wooden Stick on your immediate left at the bottom of the entrance ramp. Pick everything up, then head left. You will see a lone Construct wandering the area in front of you.

Sneak up to the Construct and beat it down with your Wooden Stick. If you can land a Stealth Attack, go for it. Otherwise, be prepared for it to fight back with a Wooden Stick of its own. This Construct doesn't have much health, however, so it should be an easy encounter.

Simosiwak Shrine: Second Training Construct

Link destroying a Construct with a Club and Light Shield and scavenging its Flamethrower Club in the Simosiwak Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The second Construct is found slightly ahead of the first one but is much more challenging to take down, so be cautious. This Construct has much more health than the prior one and has a Flame Emitter attached to a Wooden Stick, making it extremely dangerous.

Sneak up to the Construct as you did the previous one and land a Stealth Attack on it to eliminate most of its health, then finish it with the Wooden Sticks you've gathered.

If the Construct spots you, use your Light Shield and get hits in whenever possible. After defeating it, pick its Flame Emitter/Wooden Stick up, then proceed forward!

Simosiwak Shrine: Third Training Construct

With the Flame Emitter/Wooden Stick in your possession, make your way to the right to find the third and final Construct sitting on an elevated platform surrounded by Rubies.

You will be behind the Construct, so we strongly advise taking the time to Sneak up behind it to land a Stealth Attack, which will likely destroy it in one hit or leave it very close to death afterward.

Again, if you are spotted, prepare for an all-out battle, but this Construct is a bit weaker than the previous one, and your new Flame Emitter/Wooden Stick will carve away its health like nothing.

Defeating this Construct will alert you that you've successfully completed the Simosiwak Shrine, returning all your belongings to you on the spot and opening the exit. While most things will disappear, you can still gather the Rubies, so do that before moving onward!

Simosiwak Shrine: Rewards

Lastly, now that the exit is opened, you can make your way through the opened gate to find a Treasure Chest awaiting you just before the statues. Open the Chest to receive the Bright Elixir, which grants you a High-Level Glow Effect for nine minutes and ten seconds. From there, you're free to grab your Light of Blessing and exit the Simosiwak Shrine!
