Instead of trying to defeat the boss alone, you can review some points to determine the best strategies against this boss. That way, you'll understand what you should do as you face this fight and its different iterations.

Preparation

Sylas approaches the Giant's Helm, which activates its fire powers in The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story.

Each form has different magic it uses, so you'll want to pick the elements it is currently weak to, to make the fight easier. For example, the first form has fire and ice magic, so you should bring both those elements. Use the opposite elements against the boss whenever you have your mana up, so you'll maximize your damage.

Try to have at least two spell slots before this fight begins, so you can equip both to make the battle easier. You should also use a checkpoint beforehand to have all three potions ready to heal yourself.

Watch the map for exclamation points as you play through missions. If you see a glowing point with an exclamation point above it, it's most likely a boss fight. Use the checkpoint before it to switch your spells and prepare for the boss.

The Strategy

The Giant's Helm uses a shockwave attack in The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story.

No matter what form you fight, you have a general strategy you can use against the boss. Ensure you follow these steps during the fight to help you take down the boss and keep a general strategy in place.

As soon as the fight begins, you should use all your mana to cast the opposite element at the boss. You can land attacks on the boss between attacks, but be careful of potential moves. The fireballs can be hard to dodge if you don't stand back, so only sneak in attacks between its moves.

Once the boss starts flashing, you should steal its magic. You'll hold onto it until the next form since you'll deal bonus damage against it. Once you hijack its spells, you should grapple to one of the platforms at the four corners of the stage.

Sylas uses one of the side platforms to avoid the Giant's Helm's shockwave attack in The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story.

It'll launch its shockwave attack, and you can return to the stage with another grapple once the shockwaves stop. The boss does have two phases, but they function the same strategy-wise with a few attack differences.

The Giant's Helm's Attacks

The Giant's Helm uses a fireball attack against Sylas in The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story.

With that strategy in mind, you should note the Giant's Helm's attacks to plan around its moves and fight it accordingly. Each version of the Giant's Helm has two phases, so you should note them as you fight the boss.

The Attack

The First Phase

The Second Phase

How To Avoid It

Circling Projectiles

The boss summons one or two projectiles around itself. The shots sit for a moment before firing in the direction they face.

The Giant's Helm summons up to five projectiles at once.

Watch where the spells appear and stand out of the way. The ones behind the boss can be challenging to see, so avoid standing there when possible.

Falling Spikes

This attack doesn't appear during the first phase.

Spikes fall from the ceiling, revealing a red circle on the ground to show where they'll land.

Just watch for the red circles to appear and dash out of the way. They can fall quickly, so watch the screen and do your best to hold onto a dash until you need it.

Shockwave

The boss glows for a moment and shoots out multiple shockwaves around it.

You should grapple to one of the corners, and the shockwaves won't reach you. You'll know the boss won't send out any more attacks once it transforms into the other element.

The various bosses use the same attacks, except the circling projectiles use different element types based on the boss.

The First Giant's Helm Encounter

The Giant's Helm prepares ice blasts while Sylas runs toward the right in The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story.

When you encounter the first Giant's Helm, it'll have fire and ice forms. You'll also notice it has grapple locations at the four corners, so keep these in mind during the fight. Follow the above strategy to deal damage to the boss and feel free to swap between your fire and ice spells to maximize the damage.

You should also note that spikes can fall on you while you stand on the platforms away from the shockwaves. Ensure you watch the area as you play, so you can dodge out of the way if an attack comes in your direction.

While the projectiles deal decent damage, most damage comes from falling spikes and shockwaves, so remain mindful of those attacks.

The Second Giant's Helm Encounter

Sylas fights against the Giant's Helm a second time while it uses wind magic in The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story.

If you want to fight the second Giant's Helm, you must go to the secondary mission directly after the first Giant's Helm fight. You'll encounter the boss at the end of the mission. This one utilizes wind and nature magic, so bring those corresponding spells as your spell slots.

This one has similar attacks to the previous fight, except it utilizes nature and wind attacks instead of fire and ice. You still need to dodge the spikes while also dealing with the projectiles that appear around the boss.

Sylas stands behind a pillar to avoid a shockwave attack from the second Giant's Helm in The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story.

The difference for this boss fight comes from its shockwave. You don't have platforms to get you out of the way of the move. Instead, the boss has four statues near the four corners that block the shockwaves. You'll also notice grapple points behind the shockwaves to help you reach them quickly. Remember that you can't grab them with an object in the way, so you'll need to work around the statues to reach those safety points.

The game uses a red indicator when the Giant's Helm is about to use its shockwave, so you can see where you should stand to avoid damage. Remember that spikes can still fall on you in these locations, so watch for them and even use your chains to reach another spot if you can time it between shockwaves.

Even though it uses the same general attacks, this form deals more damage, so play it safe during the fight.

Additional Tips Against The Giant's Helm

Sylas fights th second Giant's Helm, which uses air magic in The Mageseeker: A League Of Legends Story.

Even though you have a general strategy to help you during the boss and its multiple forms, you can remember a few crucial tips to help you take down the boss and survive. Ensure you review and apply them as needed to adjust your strategy based on your situation.

As you fight the Giant's Helm, you should swap between watching yourself and the boss to minimize damage. While the boss has tells that let you know what attack it plans to use, the falling spikes can catch you off-guard. Keep an eye on your position to avoid unnecessary damage if a red circle appears.

If you have openings to attack the boss, stick with light attacks rather than heavy strikes. Heavy attacks have tons of end lag that can cause you to take damage. Only use light attacks, so you can dodge out of the way if the boss uses a strong attack.

If you run low on health and potions, stop using light attacks and play it safe. You don't need to deal damage with standard attacks. Since the boss fight isn't timed, you can play it safe and only deal damage with hijacked spells while avoiding moves.

Hold off on using your potions until you drop below 50 percent health. None of the boss's attacks will take out over half your health in one strike, so hold off on healing until you drop below 50. Doing so will help you avoid wasting potions by using them too soon.
