On October 4th, the Nintendo of Canada-sponsored Nintendo Switch Challenge will begin. Each week during the event, a popular Canadian Twitch streamer will complete a preset special task, or series of tasks, in a Nintendo Switch game live on-stream. They will then challenge their viewers to do the same over the course of the rest of the week, until the following week's new challenge starts the process anew with a different streamer and game.

First up, Bananasaurus Rex will be playing the recently-released Switch-exclusive Astral Chain. While a full list of games and streamers is available on the Nintendo of Canada website, the specific challenges the streamers are going to be tasked with have yet to be announced. The event's description gives two examples of potential challenges, one of which is receiving an S+ rank on a mission in Astral Chain on Pt Standard difficulty or higher, though given that this isn't too difficult to accomplish, it may just be a sample, rather than what Bananasaurus Rex himself will be doing on his stream.

For contrast, the other example given is making it to the third dungeon in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening in the game's "hero mode" difficulty, which removes heart drops, fairies, and heart pieces/containers, requiring players to make use of red potions to heal from the increased damage done by enemies. This may be closer to the type of challenge typical of this months-long event, if not the actual challenge itself. It's also possible that there could be a mix of some easier and some harder tasks to accommodate a wider range of skill levels.

On October 25th, Monkeyism will be undertaking a challenge in Overwatch for the Nintendo Switch, which will have been released on October 15th, giving players who want to attempt the challenge some time to become acquainted with the new port's motion aiming. Later on, streamer Dethridge will be playing Pokémon Sword or Shield on November 15th, the game's release day.

Also included is Super Mario Maker 2 gameplay live from Canadian Gaming Convention EGLX (Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo) and SNES Super Mario Kart gameplay on Switch, among other games, including a final game (and streamer) that have yet to be announced. The event will kick off on Bananasaurus Rex's stream on October 4th at 5PM EST.
