The Outer Worlds 2 has been announced at the Xbox and Bethesda E3 showcase.

Obsidian isn’t giving away too many details on what we can expect from the sequel, but you can watch the teaser for yourself below.

The trailer is incredibly self aware, readily admitting that there isn't anything to show off right now, and even poking fun at the tendency for announcement teasers to be less than honest with what's in the final game. In fact, the only thing we know for certain is that it's going to be called The Outer Worlds 2. There's no word on whether or not this one will be an Xbox console exclusive, much like most of the titles shown off during today's Xbox and Bethesda showcase.

The Outer Worlds released in October 2019, and came from the same team that brought us the first two Fallout games, as well as Fallout: New Vegas. Much of the wasteland's dark humour was present in The Outer Worlds, as it mercilessly satirized venture capitalism and its effects on space colonisation.

Obsidian Entertainment was acquired by Microsoft in 2018.  Microsoft is clearly eager to bulk up its exclusives library, learning from Sony’s strategy with the PS4. Just before the showcase started, it was leaked that the highly anticipated Starfield would be a PC and Xbox exclusive, a huge win for Microsoft this console generation.
