The people who want to play The Outer Worlds on the go won't have to wait for much longer, as the game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in March.

The Outer Worlds is a critically acclaimed action RPG from the creators of the original Fallout games. The player wakes up on a strange interstellar colony after spending a century in cryosleep and they must go on a galaxy-hopping adventure to oppose (or join) the corporations that are controlling the destiny of the human race.

The Outer Worlds is already available on several platforms, but fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Obsidian Entertainment has revealed (via. Eurogamer) that the Switch port of The Outer Worlds will be released on March 6.

The more frustrating news that has come out about the Nintendo Switch version of The Outer Worlds is that there won't be a proper physical version of the game. The people who purchase the physical edition of the game will receive a box with a code in it, which means that The Outer Worlds is digital only on the Switch.

The Switch has yet to receive any Fallout games (outside of Fallout Shelter), which means that fans of the Bethesda style of RPG have had to be satisfied with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The Outer Worlds can fill the Fallout-shaped hole in the Switch's library. It's just a shame that The Outer Worlds is being released during a relatively busy time on the Switch, as it's launching on the same day as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX and is only a few weeks removed from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is shaping up to be the biggest Switch game during the first half of 2020.
