10 Coastal Basement And Pools

For simmers who like to build, Sims 4 Island Living has given them a lot of the things they've been wanting for a while (like glass floors), and more. However, with all the amazing things simmers can build in Sulani there are two things that they cannot, basements and pools.

But, with this mod from TwistedMexi, available for free on their Patreon, basements, and pools for ocean lots can be unlocked. They even include lots of helpful tips on how to fix any issues that might arise from using this mod.

9 Wicker-O-Wisp Matching Set

With Island Living comes a whole collection of island appropriate furniture and items. A lot of them are wicker themed and amazing, including the Wicker-o-Wisp single bed, but unfortunately, don't have a lot of matching items to go with it. Until now, with Aroundthesims' Wicker-o-Wisp matching set.

There's a separated double bed and a single bed. A wicker loveseat and living chair, a smaller version of the game's coffee table, and a ceiling fan that has the same thermostat functions that came with Seasons so simmers can keep sims cool without detracting from the natural Sulani look.

8 Stronger Mermaid Buffs

One of the biggest things that came with Island Living is mermaids, the new life state for The Sims 4. Simmers can either create their mermaids straight from CAS or turn their human sims into mermaids by eating Mermadic Kelp.

Mermaids come with a few different powers, like siren abilities that allow them to affect Sim's moodlets. However, the strength of the moodles is a little weak and can be easily overpowered by others. That's where Zeldagirl180's Stronger Mermaid Buffs at modthesims comes in. It changes the +2 moodlets Mermaids can give to a whopping +10!

7 Mermaid Bassinet

Even family-style players get to have fun in Island Living as kids can swim in the ocean too, toddlers can wade in it and have fun on the beach while building sandcastles. They can even be mermaids! Though their genetic traits don't show up until their teens, like vampires.

However, unlike the previous occult life states, mermaids didn't get their own style of bassinets. But with Srslysims' Mermaid Bassinet mod, simmers can now put sim babies to sleep in an ocean-themed crib. Though, simmers need to have an 'invisible' crib mod installed for the mermaid bassinet to work.

6 Rustic Wooden Toliet

When the "off-the-grid" poll option was brought up for future content for the game, lots of simmers were excited about the idea. And now simmers can play around with that option with the "Off-the-Grid" lot trait, where electricity and plumbing won't work.

But that means things like toilets and sinks don't work either, and simmers have to find other ways to have their sims answer the "call of nature". Or they can grab Serinion's Rustic Wooden Toliet. It's usable on "Off-the-Grid" lots and Serinion even made a portable bucket that can be used as a sink.

5 Siren Set

Mermaids have been one of the most wanted occult states for The Sims 4, only outmatched by witches. There have been tons of mods for simmers to make their own "mock mermaids", long before Island Living was a thing, and now a lot of those same mods make mermaids even better!

And one of the best ones is the Siren set by Pyxis. This set comes with mermaid-style ears for all ages and gills marked for teen through elders. They pick up on a sim's skin texture so it'll match any skin a sim is wearing.

4 All Mermaids Can Change Weather

Another of the amazing abilities mermaids have with the Island Living pack is the ability to affect weather! Yes, if simmers also have the Seasons expansion pack installed in their game, their mermaids will have the ability to call rainstorms, thunderstorms and even clear already stormy skies.

Though, depending on if a mermaid sim has either the Good or Evil trait, they're unable to do certain interactions. Good mermaids can't Call Thunderstorms and Evil ones can't Call Clear Skies. But with the mod, All Mermaids Can Change Weather by petsimk, those pesky restrictions are taken away.

3 Mermaid Scales As Accessories For All Genders

It isn't just female sims that get to be mermaids, males can too! And with the variety of tails, occult genetics, presets and clothing options simmers can make their mermaids as pretty or as terrifying as they want.

Unfortunately one of the CAS items, a set of mermaid scales in the tops section, wasn't also available for males. But with Maars's Mermaid Scales as Accessories for All Genders mod, it is now. This mod makes the scale top available in both the feminine and masculine tags and uses the gloves slot. It's even enabled for humans!

2 Mermaid Pose Pack

From amazing builds, truely unique sims, and awesome mods, The Sims community is a great place for creativity. There's even poses players can use to show off their sims or add more storytelling elements to their game. And one of the best poses for Island Living is this Mermaid Pose Pack by Cazmari-mods.

Simmers can use this set of expressive poses to tell an amazing story or take tons of screencaps for themselves. Pose Player and the Teleporting Statue are needed for this and most poses to work so make sure to grab those as well.

1 MC Command Center

No list of must-have Sims 4 mods would be complete without the MC Command Center made by Deaderpool. Currently, a hotfix for the Island Living update is available publicly, with the newest version available for patrons to Deaderpool's Patreon.

MC Command Center gives simmers the ability to more fully control what happens in their games. It includes changing the percent of autonomous pregnancy and marriages that can happen in the game, called story progression, and a number of other things with a player's sims and all the sims that populate the world.
