Create-A-Sim, known as CAS, is one of the main draws of The Sims 4. While some players prefer building or gameplay, many players spend hours perfecting their Sim in CAS. From face sliders to choosing the perfect hair, down to picking out their nail color, there are a lot of details to consider when creating your Sim.
With over sixty expansions, game packs, stuff packs, and kits to choose from, there are a lot of options for CAS items to create a stylish Sim. If you're finding it hard to choose which one will best suit your preferred style, here's a list to help narrow your choices down.
13 My Wedding Stories
While the items offered in this pack don't have too much obvious versatility, the My Wedding Stories game pack offers 82 CAS items to help create the wedding of your Sims dreams. The inclusive outfits also allow Sims from many different cultures the ability to celebrate their big day their way.
Many of the dresses and suits come with colorful swatches, meaning they can be used as regular formal outfits for wedding guests, teen Sims attending prom, or even just fancy party-goers.
12 Snowy Escape
The Snowy Escape Expansion pack isn't just snowsuits and ski goggles. If you have Seasons, you may feel like there aren't many appropriate cold-weather outfits for your Sims, and Snow Escape offers over 100 CAS items to help your Sim bundle up during winter. There are items available for all ages, from toddlers to elders, so Sims of any age can stay warm in style.
The pack also features a few casual options, like sweaters and button-ups, as well as a piece resembling a Japanese Komon Kimono.
11 Werewolves
The game pack Werewolves offers 79 CAS items that follow a pretty distinctive style: a mix of messy, DIY grunge, and cozy woodland style. The patchwork coat and hole-riddles clothes can style many different Sims, from earthy fashionistas to punk-rock teens.
The pack's style is unlike most other packs that are available for the game, but that means you can use it to create Sims that are unlike others in the world. Human Sims aren't the only ones with options, though, as there are accessories such as collars and piercings available for werewolf Sims.
10 Discover University
The Discover University expansion pack offers clothes that have a mix of youthful style and adult aesthetics. Alongside several school-spirit items are sweaters, joggers, and jackets that are perfect for late-night studying or hanging out on the quad. The pieces offered have more colorful swatches that match the two Sim schools as well as basic ones that any one of your Sims can enjoy.
This pack is perfect for Sims looking to mix style with comfort. There are also several new small tattoos included in this pack, so your Sim can have a more permanent memory of their time in college.
9 Eco Lifestyle
One Sims trash is another Sims treasure, and the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack takes that sentiment to heart. With a more eco-conscious version of the Werewolves pack DIY-patchwork looks, Eco Lifestyle features clothes that look a bit more worn in.
The pack features a range of anesthetics to fit the style of the featured neighborhoods: a more clean-cut and modern line with light colors for the green footprint, and recycled, camo-printed styles with richer yellows and oranges for the industrial footprint.
8 Seasons
Featuring clothes for holidays and weather, the Seasons expansion pack offers some pretty necessary staples in your Sims wardrobe. This pack introduced the two new CAS categories for hot weather and cold weather, letting your Sim don a tank top when it's too hot or bundle up when it's too cold, meaning no Sim will be found wearing shorts in the snow.
The pack has options for toddlers to elders, providing seasonally appropriate outfits for all. Just make sure they wear them, as dressing them inappropriately for the weather could cause you to lose your Sim.
7 First Fits
Many Sims 4 packs tend to focus on the adult life stage in all aspects, leaving young Sims with either smaller versions of hairs or tops, or nothing at all. The First Fits Kit is just for kids, adding over 20 CAS items for your young Sims.
The kit offers basic options, like plain sweaters and button-ups, that allow you to mix and match them easily with other items to help switch up the wardrobes of child Sims. Most of the items included are unisex, with a couple of items specific to feminine Sims.
6 Dream Home Decorator
It may seem strange that the game pack focused on building has some of the best CAS items, but Dream Home Decorator offers some stellar pieces. The modern, clean-lined style of the clothes matches the style of the furniture, so your interior decorator Sim can easily reflect the homes they design.
The pack features some unique pieces, as well, such as a ballet-esc wrap skirt, a brightly colored coverall, and an adorable toddler dress - with pockets! This pack is perfect if you love modern style mixed with some classic pieces.
5 High School Years
Being a teen is hard, but having stylish clothes makes it a bit easier. The High School Years expansion pack features numerous on-trend clothes for the younger generation, like bucket hats and brightly colored anime tees. Some of the hairs included in the pack are available for children and toddlers, as well.
One of the pack's biggest features is Trendi, the in-game clothes-selling app. The Sims partnered with Depop to design several pieces for the game that are only available through the Trendi feature, bringing CAS into everyday gameplay.
4 Toddler Stuff
Toddlers were not introduced to The Sims until three years after the game was released, meaning many of the early packs did not feature any items for them. The Toddler Stuff pack aimed to remedy that, offering 40 toddler-exclusive items. The pack has some precious items to dress your toddler Sim in, like an animal-ear hoodie, a brightly colored tutu, and a shirt with a pair of dress-up wings.
If you're playing the 100-baby challenge and having a hard time dressing your toddlers up in different outfits, this pack will give you plenty of options to tell all seven of them apart.
3 Incheon Arrivals
For those who are unaware, airport fashion is when celebrities are seen dressed their best when jet-setting. The Sims were inspired specifically by the airport fashion seen in Korea and designed a CAS kit derived from it.
The Incheon Arrivals kit features just over 20 pieces in a modern color palette of neutral and lighter shades. The items are a mix of chic and comfortable, and while there isn't an airport for your Sims to strut their stuff at, they can still relax in style at home.
2 Cottage Living
The cottage living pack introduced a lot of new aspects to the game, such as the ability to raise livestock and new gardening features. Notably, it brought "cottage-core" into the Sims franchise. Each CAS item in this pack brings the cozy farming aesthetic to life, with flower-patterned overalls, oversized cardigans, and fox-patterned sweaters.
Your Sims aren't the only ones who can rock the aesthetic, as you can even dress up your animal friends (both your livestock and your wild visitors) with sunglasses, scarves, sweaters, and more.
1 Growing Together
The Sims 4 Growing Together expansion pack coincided with the introduction of infants to the game, meaning it's the first pack to feature non-base game infant items. The family aspect of the pack also means that each life stage was paid attention to, with new items that suit elders being included. Items are also very specific to the life stages they're in, such as a handmade candy necklace for children and a duck-billed onesie for infants.
All the clothing featured in the pack follows a cohesive color palette of pale-toned colors, with the nice touch of items for children and younger being a bit brighter.
