The Sims Bustin’ Out was an interesting title for the PlayStation 2 that took the Sims concept and made it into a mission-based RPG for players to explore. The player is tasked with completing each career track, buy everyone’s possessions back from the debt collector, and become rich enough to kick Malcolm Landgraab out of his own mansion.

Because the game required players to perform specific activities before items, locations, and other things would become unlocked cheats were a popular way to circumvent these obstacles. Whether the player is beating the game or unlocking everything to play how they want here are all the cheat codes they should know about and how to use them.

8 Cheat Gnome

If the player intends to use cheats in this game the first thing they need to do is to unlock the ability to cheat in the game. This requires summoning the Cheat Gnome. This little guy is the item players will interact with to activate all of the other cheats.

To summon this strange fellow the layer needs to pause the game at any point and press the following buttons; R2, L1, R1, L2, Left, and Circle. If done correctly the Cheat Gnome will set up shop outside of the players house. From here on out the player merely needs to enter the desired cheat code and speak with him to receive the reward. He will leave now and then, but he’ll always come back on his own.

7 Fill All Motives

Perhaps one of the most frustrating aspects for players is to manage a Sim’s Motives. While a person in real-life could push through hunger, a desire to socialize, or other needs to get things done a Sim can get really stubborn about it.

To quickly fulfill all of a Sim’s motives players can enter the cheat code; L2, R1, Left, Circle, and Up. Then when speaking with the Cheat Gnome the Sim will have their Motives instantly taken care of. Sure it won't solve the issue that caused the problem in the first place, but it can provide some nice breathing room to get things done before dealing with the issue.

6 $10,000 Simoleans

Simoleans are what makes the world go around as they enable the player to satisfy their Sim’s Motives, buy better housing, upgraded items, and even socialize efficiently with others. A large portion of the player’s time will be devoted to securing a steady flow of Simoleans to provide for all of these expenses.

Alternatively, the player could enter the cheat code; L1, R2, Right, Square, and L3 to get $10 thousand Simoleans after speaking with the Cheat Gnome. Not enough to make all problems go away and a quick shopping spree or house upgrade will burn through that cash, but it saves a lot of time and gives instant access to fun toys or needed groceries.

5 Unlock Team Photos

This cheat doesn’t directly affect the player’s character or provide any benefit whatsoever. What it does do is cause a picture of the development team responsible for The Sims Bustin’ Out to appear during the end credits.

It’s more of a fun easter egg than a cheat, but if players want to access it they can enter the code; L3, R3, R1, and R2. Once inserted and the Cheat Gnome has been spoken to the picture will appear when the player beast the game and the credits roll.

4 All Locations

During the course of gameplay players will gradually unlock more and more areas providing access to different characters, houses, and other perks. Many of these houses provide access to handy features and abilities that make the game simpler.

To quickly get access to these locations the player can enter the cheat; R2, R3, L3, L2, R1, and L1. After speaking with the Cheat Gnome the various locations of the game will be instantly accessible to the player.

3 All Objects

There are various items the Sim wants or needs in order to accomplish their goals. Everything from Sofa to TVs will be gradually unlocked over the course of gameplay giving unique perks and benefits when used.

To quickly get access to these objects the player can speak to the Cheat Gnome after entering the code; L2, R2, Up, Triangle, and L3. This way players can quickly access items like the Aromaster that can dramatically cut down on Motive management and makes the game much easier.

2 All Skins

While Skins aren’t essential to gameplay or progress they do provide the player with the ability to customize their Sim. Having the ability to tailor a Sims look however they want has been a staple of the franchise. Unfortunately, in The Sims Bustin’ Out skins are something that need to be unlocked.

For players who want to design their Sim as they wish right out of the gate they can use the cheat code; L1, R2, X, Circle, Up, and Down. Afterward all Skins will become available and the player can make their character look however they wish.

1 All Social Options

The Social motive is one of the more finnicky aspects of gameplay and the player’s ability to manage and create relationships is based on Social Options. Essentially these Options give the character different ways to express themselves that are unlocked over time.

The cheat code; L1, R1, Down, X, L3, and R3 will instantly unlock all of these options. This makes socializing much easier moving forward as it allows the Sim to truly express themselves in all situations.
