For two decades now, The Sims franchise has provided gamers with endless hours of entertainment. Characterized by its creative, inclusive and vibrant gameplay, it's only justified that it still holds the crown as the best life simulation in the world. The game has come a long way, and while it hasn't always been smooth sailing, no one can deny just how good The Sims is.

The game has changed a lot over the years, but there are some things that fans will never forget. From famous townies to funny Easter eggs, The Sims has built its own unique fandom. Part of it is definitely its wide array of absolutely iconic and memorable objects we just need to see make a return for The Sims 5.

10 Cake Dancers

The Sims was something else when it first came out. It wasn't exactly family-friendly, and that's what made it so fun and quirky. There are many things that were deleted from the first game in its sequels in an effort to tone it down, and the cake dancers are definitely one of them.

This cake, once interacted with, would basically open up and spawn either a male or female dancer in a skimpy outfit. It's one object that's pretty hard to forget.

9 Bonehilda's Closet

Not all cool things from The Sims were forever abandoned. Having made her debut in Makin' Magic, Bonehilda and her closet actually came back in The Sims 3. Players could purchase a casket-shaped closet, which when interacted with would spawn Bonehilda.

Bonehilda is one of the most well-known and well-loved NPCs of The Sims franchise. She looks creepy, but is especially efficient when it comes to cleaning the house.

8 Tyke Nyte Bed

The original The Sims definitely had a lot of questionable design choices, and looking back at a lot of the items that were included in the first game, it's almost like a time capsule of fashion and design from an entirely different era.

This is no different when it comes to the Tyke Nyte bed, a colorful kids' bed that looks just like a kids' bed from the early 2000s and late '90s. The design was so popular it was even recreated later on by fans as custom content for subsequent games.

7 Cheap Green Stove

Every game in the franchise always has that one cheap stove that will spell disaster if a clueless Sim tries to cook even the simplest dish on it. Well, one thing that has been pretty consistent with these incredibly cheap stoves is the color.

Most of the beginner stoves have this weird pale green color. It was first properly showcased in The Sims 2, which had a somewhat questionable color palette in the first place.

6 Genie Lamp

Chaos is a natural part of any player's Sims game, and what better way to cause chaos than to use a lamp to summon a genie? This concept has survived throughout the games pretty consistently, and it's no wonder why. When it was first introduced in The Sims Livin' Large, it was a hit.

A genie could give the household good fortune or absolutely demolish them. These are the kinds of experiences that we truly miss in The Sims 4, which lacks a sense of chaos.

5 Spiral Stairs

Ah, stairs — one of the most controversial topics of The Sims franchise. It wasn't until somewhat recently that The Sims 4 finally updated its stair tool to include more complex two-level stairs. Still, we have yet to see the actual return of the iconic spiral stairs from The Sims and The Sims 2.

Not only do these stairs look good, but kids can also interact with them differently and slide down the railing to get down quickly. Small touches like these really do make a difference in the game.

4 Inflatable Chairs

There's nothing more nostalgic and quirkier than these inflatable, colorful chairs and their couch counterparts from The Sims. Once upon a time, they were the hottest item of any party animal's house, an ideal addition to a young adult's bachelor pad for those music-filled nights.

Now, however, they're sort of a relic from a time long gone. Although they're definitely old-fashioned, it would be so cool to see them return to The Sims.

3 Minibar

Thanks to Discover University the game now has mini fridges, but what about minibars? The Sims was ahead of its time with these super classy bar designs which, granted, look a little outdated for 2020, but would be such a funky addition to the game. It's a pity they weren't included in a luxury stuff pack.

The bars came in different styles, from classic to more futuristic, and just added a little something special to a household that wanted to show off its wealth.

2 Aquarium

There's nothing that screams The Sims as much as the original aquarium from the first game. This thing just looks special and has that quintessential vibe of the original that can't be replaced or replicated in any way shape or form, even if The Sims 2 definitely tried.

The colorful fish and the tank that needed to be cleaned so regularly are iconic relics that perhaps will be brought back some day.

1 Heart Bed

Everyone was expecting to see this bed make a return on the 20th anniversary of The Sims franchise. Instead, all players received was an ugly hot tub. Thankfully, fans have been hard at work trying to recreate this absolutely iconic love bed from the first game since its conception.

This bed was the ultimate way to make Sims WooHoo, and another testament to just how inappropriate and funny the first game could be.
