Skydance Interactive has announced that The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution will release for Oculus Quest 2 later this year. While a release date for the title wasn't actually revealed, it was promised that the game will launch at some point before the end of the year barring any delays.

Alongside the announcement, we got a brand new trailer with an action-packed ending showing off some of the game's combat. With just a magnum and a small machete, the player is seen trying to fend off an entire wave of walkers coming from every angle. Once the ammo runs dry and the machete is firmly planted in a walker's skull, the player then pulls out a chainsaw before the scene cuts to black.

There are a couple of things we know about the game already since it was actually first announced a while ago. The game is a standalone story and doesn't follow on from the events of the first game, but this time you'll be exploring the French Quarter of the city of New Orleans. We don't know much about the story, but considering the first game is very choice-driven, we can likely expect more from the sequel.

While this new information was revealed at the Meta Quest showcase, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution is slated to release on all major VR headsets, although the release dates may vary. The only headset we don't know if the game is coming to is PlayStation's upcoming PSVR 2, although we don't know the release date for the headset either.

Apart from Saints & Sinners, we got a bunch of other interesting and exciting announcements during the Meta Quest showcase, including an in-depth look at Among Us VR which is set to drop this holiday season, the shadow drop of Resident Evil 4 VR's Mercenaries mode which is available right now, and a closer look at Moss Book 2 on Oculus Quest 2 which is set to release this summer.
